They were better by some distance , so a lot of reasons for our demise, most well covered here .

But focussing on the dreadful 'Pool goals , Lloris truly fucked it . All it took is the totally basic goalkeeping duty....to fucking well
shout ' MINE' . Everyone who plays footie at most levels has seen/heard keepers doing this , taking charge in situations where defenders are unsure .

The 1st and 3rd goals...just a simple goalie shout would have dealt with it . WTF is wrong with him ?...this is not a difficult goalkeeping
skill that needs a high degree of training and skill....just shout MINE ffs. Fucking WC winner can't deal with passes in between him and a defender ! Horrendous errors .

Then on the 2nd...1st rule on dealing with shots...push the fuckers to the side not out to oppose forwards...didn't look like a killer shot either, ...just more nervous keeping sadly .

Whatever happened between him and Serge...without any info, I'm siding with Serge !

.... and this was yet another game where a stuttering opponent was rehabilitated by a Jose Spurs team . We're truly great at bringing teams back from their crises..

...Can't Levy monetise this amazing Spurs service somehow !

The team were terrible, yes.

But Jose got just about every decision before and during the match wrong. He could not have been more wrong. It was like on Champ Man when you deliberately mess up your team because you want it to lose (when you've taken over Arsenal just to fuck them up, obviously...).

Picking Doherty in the first place was a terrible decision, but then playing him on the left??? WTF. And to bring on Winks and Lamela (who were both dreadful) was a crime.

What was he thinking?

I refuse to knee-jerk because going into this match we were on a decent run and we have done well this season so far. Also, lockdown is making me get more down about stuff than I normally would, and Spurs' results meaning a lot more to me.

But having been utterly down in the dumps about Jose after the Bournemouth match and then being very upbeat for a while and genuinely believing we would do well this season, the doubts are beginning to creep back in.

That was a shocking performance. Yes, Liverpool are a good team but we stood a chance of beating them beforehand. How we react to this is crucial. We need a very good run of games.

Eagle - Højbjerg, he was that good
Birdie - Ndombele, Rodon (even accounting for the mistake for third)
Par - Kane, Aurier, Bergwijn, Davies
Bogey - Lloris, Dier, Son
Double bogey - Doherty, Lamela, Winks, Mourinho

NET - Bale

For 44 minutes it was a good battle but after Kane's injury we were absolutely shocking in every possible way.

It's funny how we constantly complained about the central midfield yet now that's our strongest area of the first XI (the backups are still suspect) and, Kane aside, every outfielder around is playing really poorly.

Mourinho set us up alright apart from the absolutely nonsense decision to play Doherty at LWB, as I said I thought the first 44 minutes was a good game, but got everything wrong at half time. Wrong subs, wrong mentality, wrong everything. Hide behind individual defensive mistakes if you will but the lack of any attacking coherence without Kane in the side is 100% on him and if Kane is out for a while that is his challenge this spring, as it was last spring.

don't think hojbjerg is getting enough credit, that fucker did everyone's job last night. just because we lost and everyone else was largely dire shouldn't detract from his efforts. my favourite moment was thiago thinking he could throw him some body feint and that hojbjerg would fall for it but instead stood there like a wall and thiago bounced right off him like a small child.

It’s not just a Jose Spurs team that is great at this we’ve been famous for a long while at rehabilitating poor form teams. I quite expect us to reward Brighton with their first home win of the season on Sunday. It’s what we do! Just like we rarely turn up for the really big games. It’s who we are!

Totally understand your point and especially what was a bizarre decision by Jose to play Doherty at LWB. But this game was lost in the two minutes either side of half time by unacceptable player errors and nothing to do with how the team was set up or the game plan. Jose can rightly feel let down by senior players Lloris and Dier and his two wing backs. Jose has to own the dumb decision to play Doherty and the ineffective substitutions bringing Winks and Lamela on but it was individual errors that gifted Pool the win.

Hojbjerg 8
Ndmbele 7
Bergwijn 6
Rodon 6

Rest including subs share 20 between them including Mourinho.
Worst performance ever? Those with long memories might disagree.
Liverpool away from Home on a bad run owned us once again.
Top Four I doubt it.
Cups probably not.
Did you get the message Levy? We need to spend big, very big, very very big.
Same old José.
SAD.

Still disgusted by winks hiding in a game again. The fact he carries himself with the arrogance that he should be staring each week infuriates me

Great work Bullet man
one of my "go to" threads on here.
I havent watched the game just seen the "Highlights" so cannot post marks but later I will post up a hybrid of what others thought.

As an aside I would have thought games like these are even more important for marking each player to see our deficiencies (even if they are massive)

Difficult to rate the players when Mourinho really fucked them over. No Toby in the back 3, even when he could pick one of them for pace to compensate? Why would you do that against Liverpool? Doherty at LB when, if he hadn't made such a bizarre choice at CB, Davies would have made perfect sense.

Whatever the fuck he did at half time (there are plenty of rumours), we came out 2nd half looking like we'd been on the piss. Then Winks goes in at DM so Hojbjerg can chase about - a tactic that has failed time and time again. Ndombele gets pushed up to a sort of left wing position where the game bypasses him so that Lamela can fanny around in midfield and give the ball away. We lose Kane but he leaves Vinicius (and Bale) on the bench and we lump the ball up to absolutely nobody.

Tactical genius - my arse.
