Tough, tough call for motm. Toby, Danny and Eric all deserve it ... oh but wait what about Moussa?

I see Christian Eriksen has again been criminally underrated by some of our fans, the Telegraph and the Star gave him MOTM. Created 4 chances and should have had another assist to the one he got, which would also have been an opening goal open play assist. Created 4 chances overall, more than anyone else. A passing accuracy of 71% was also very good, in the rest of team it ranged from 97% for Vertonghen, all the way down to 50% for Lamela.

Edit: Really? again, Sadyman? Will you never cease your bunny boiling behaviour?

Lamela for me. Eriksen very good. Alli not great bar his goal but that's why he is so valuable to us. I have a man crush on Toby.

Eriksen was brilliant imo but maybe my glasses are tinted with him, I think his control and 1 and 2 touch passing were vital today.

Eriksen was very good today, Lamela was better than him though, comfortably. The Telegraph and the Star are wrong.

Voted Dembele MotM simply because I thought he was our most consistent player throughout the game, and was playing out of his skin. Not sure why the opposition even bother trying to get the ball off him.

Lamela, Rose, and Alderweireld were all excellent too. Lamela in particular played a pivotal role in all three goals, and he took his goal superbly.

Overall I don't think anyone had a poor game. That second half was a stunning display, and one which will see us playing CL football next season in our last season at the Lane. Amazing stuff.

I thought he was one of our weakest players in the first half but he was important to how we turned the game around.

A player of his quality can always turn a game so I think we need to take the rough with the smooth sometimes.

Routine game against fading opposition.Toyed with them and then put them out of their misery.
Pochettino is no Louis Van Gaal that's for sure.
They had one shot on target the whole game even with a bright start.
Speaks volumes for the quality of our defence.

Lloris......6......One shot, duly saved.
Walker....7+....Important for the shape of the defence. Only one LOL moment.
Toby........8......Priceless . I hope.
Verts.......7+....Kevin says 'hi'. Just keeping it warm
Rose.......8......Lovely boy. Encapsulates the current Spurs attitude and spirit and quality.
Dembele.7+... Solid, used his strength well.
Dier.........7+....Controlled performance and avoided the yellow.
Eriksen....8+....In all the important places. Fine assist for Alli. Sees the whole picture. My MOM
Lamela....8......Work rate and skill. Well taken goal and good movement for the miss.
Alli...........6......+1 for the goal. BBC MOM but not mine. Fine player when/where it matters.
Kane.......7.......Essential hold up play and foraging in the tough areas. Look out HK, JV's just behind you.

Do you get the feeling that this entire post was just so this could be said?
Tiresome.

Close to call, but Dembele just about gets MOTM for me, the man is simply a beast and next too impossible to get the ball off. Really struggle to remember seeing a stronger player in a Spurs shirt.

I thought Eriksen, Lamela and Rose were the top performing attacking players. The guy who opens up the game always gets extra kudos in my book though. Just opinions ultimately and everyone's is valid.

Lamela, Rose and Dembele were absolutely brillant IMO.

It was Eriksen's vision, quick thinking and execution of a perfect pass that was the significant turning point though. I didn't think he was having his best game before that.

For me Lamela just takes it. His tenacity to win the ball on the floor to flick it to Kane was fantastic and his overall work rate is phenomenal, let alone the goal and his assist. He made the biggest contribution today.

Special mention to Danny Rose as well, who never stopped, by far our best player first half.

Seems like it. It's just sad now.

It's just become a kind of tradition. I know there's people that wait on match day ratings thread for my posts to see how creative I've been in my musings on Lamela. I honestly feel like a big part of their life would be missing if my posts on here stopped - they never stop tagging me in. It could be argued I try find ways to give sly digs to Lamela at every opportunity, which is unfair I think, but I do always give my honest opinion and write facts only, and feel I'm a necessary anti-dote to some posters who do go overboard on everything he does, while the contributions of other players get routinely overlooked.
