Didn't see the second half but would give AVB a 10 for taking Ade all the way to Moldova, teasing him with a return and theb not using him. Great Banter.

Pretty hard picking a MOTM but I'd be tempted to go for Eriksen as he did provide the very few moments of creative quality that we mustered.

I completely forgot about Lennon being through on goal, well on the right side of the box - was that Eriksen who slid him though at that point?

Felt like a training game where one team had been told to play for their careers and the other to take it easy. Thought Chadli did well when he came on.

I thought Sheriff were a good team, they could embarrass many other teams. The game wasn't a stroll in the park as some may have thought, it was in fact a very balanced game, in days gone by we'd have lost we really were fortunate not to concede and from a tactical point we AVB has to address the ease at how they managed to expose us having said that we also weathered the storm and in the end controlled the result.

I get the feeling many ain't to happy with our style of play but I personally think we're on the right track to being successful...these games are great lessons for us to learn going forward.

Yes, with a lovely back flick. Lennon had so much time he could have pulled up a chair watched the original version of Solaris, got up and slotted the ball home. Still, at least his shot made it all the way to the keeper.

Yeah just looked up saw the flick and then Lennon through on goal - should of known it came from Eriksen, exquisite.

Thank God the Sheriff players all attended the same football school as Defoe and they were all sick the day they taught the offside rule.

He could have hosted a Tarkovsky retrospective with full analysis and discussions.
Might have gone down well over there too, Moldova being local.

I can't believe anyone can score Lennon any higher than Lamela. What did he actually do other than miss an easy one on one?

Oh well, 3 wins out of 3, Defoe equals European scoring record, Lennon makes first start after injury and hits post, defender nobody had heard of until he signed makes MOM performance, Lloris keeps another clean sheet.

Dammit, why are we so shit ?

Lloris - 7 - Easy does it
Naughton 5 - Looked rusty and lacking in confidence on the right and was given a torrid time by his opponent.
Chiriches 7.5 MOM - Good anticipation saving a goal. Looks like the goods once he is acclimatised. Audacious chip over the forward deep in our half which scared me a little - but he has the confidence in himself. A little bit Beckanbauer, a little bit Atoube and a lot of Chiriches tonight.
Vertonghen 6 - Did what he had to do, was slow reacting a few times but also scored for an OK day at the office.
Fryers 6 - Looked good while he lasted. I'd like to see more of him.
Sandro 7 - Solid as always. Tired a bit. Not 100% match fit.
Dembele 5 - A bit off the pace. He needs bench time as he looks tired.
Lennon 6 - Lively when he was on the right wing.
Eriksen 6 - Some clever passes which team mates didnt switch on to.
Lamela 5 - Nothing great, nothing bad. Trying too hard to make things happen at times.
Defoe 5 - Did what he had to do but showed his limitation at times.

Dawson 6 - Solid as always.
Chadli 7 - Lively and dangerous. Needed to see more ball.
Holtby 6 - Busy and industrious in making sure we kept posession.

Opposition - 7 Lively and worked hard. With a bit of luck could have spanked us.

Spurs looked like they wanted to pass the ball around for 90 minutes and get the hell out of there as fast as they could. I guess we are good enough to do that and get away with a 2-0 win, but it was boring as hell. I have to say I was much more entertained by Sheriff - they looked far more interested and created the better chances.

I am not sure if I've ever seen a more fun, shit-your-pants and skillful defender in a Spurs shirt than Chiriches. His goal-saving clearance surely made Ledley proud.
