Kinell. We should have 4 more points, and we don’t because the moment we decide to hold on to what we have we become sterile on the ball, give silly free kicks and corners up then can’t defend them.

Kane will be seething, MoM by a mile

Low and behold we drop 1 points and once again it’s scapegoat Winks fault!!!! Not the fault of Sissoko and Aurier forgiving away totally unnecessary free kicks near the area. Not the fault of Sanchez for a bad headed own goal? Not the fault of Bale for not scoring when through. Not the fault of the forwards for taking their foot off the gas in the 2nd half and not scoring more. No the only reason we gave up a 3 goal lead was because Winks was on the field when WHU scored their goals. This is just tiresome the way every time we have a bad result people blame the scapegoat of the moment. It’s a team game. We win as a team and lose as a team. It’s rarely because of just one individual. You all need to grow up and stop reacting like school kids.
Finally a sensible post.

Well said, John

Kane MOM, obviously, but one little criticism - he's so desperate for a hat trick that costs us goals. No different to Son or Dele in that respect but it's something we need to sort out if we're really going to maximize our potential. He's the only one today though who deserves MOM.

100%. Had chances to put others in and shot from silly angles. There was a general arrogance about how we played in second half, like West Ham were just there for the Spurs show: Kane hat trick one-eyedness, Bale second debut and silly free kick etc. Think even José bought into it with his two forward changes as that’s not how you close out a game

But Kane was head and shoulders above everyone else

It goes pear shaped through an appallingly lazy piece of defending from Sissoko, a lack of concentration from Sanchez (situation originated by a poor clearance from Sissoko and lazy work by Moura) and sloppy work by Winks. These weren’t chances created by West Ham they were down to amateur defending by Spurs.

Positives, Kane was MOTM and the partnership with Son is something to behold. Should have won this one comfortably.

Just rewatching the game again.

Yes that's right.

Sanchez did ok. Some good bits of defending and some bad bits too. Quite a few mis-timed headers that end up inviting on pressure. Thats really not good enough.

First half we were scintillating but football is for 90 mins the second half was not good enough.

Sanchez doesn't hide and I like that about him but he will be blamed for the own goal which can happen when you're defending. He had 2 poor moments in possession and conceded a free kick and of course the own goal. That aside I thought he defended well and covered a poor Toby.

Aurier was rash and gave away needless fouls in areas where it caused danger

Sissoko beaten at the far post for Wet Spam first goal but many people blamed Sanchez which seem unfair. You wondered where the hell Toby was when ever we had to defend or bringing the ball out from the back.

Toby--I am not impressed at all. He reminds me of a declining Micheal Dawson, snails pace doesn't take control of the ball at the back, only looking to hit that long straight or diagonal ball at lest Daws challenged aeirally.

Jose game management was unacceptable once Ndombele left the field we lost control of the game.

Painful this one, our new stadium should be a complete nightmare for teams but they all love it here.

Mentality prob imo. Yes Spam goals had elements of luck , but we allowed them to control 2nd half .

Wonder how we'd have coped being 3-0 down after a few minutes . I can easily imagine a collapse . The old Spurs weakness
clearly defined yesterday .
Winks is a hugely successful multimillionaire footballer ...but I just don't see what Poch,Jose and Southgate are seeing .His fans use words like 'Metronomic' 'Tidy' to express his qualities , never 'Key Pass maker' 'Dynamic tackler' or 'Powerful engine' . I just don't see him commanding a place in any top team . Not enthusiastic to see his appearance yesterday as we tried to hang on to a lead .

The other 'scapegoat'. ( we're not allowed to criticise players who played poorly) is indeed Sanchez , check the game again , he's making
nervous mistakes atm . So weird how he isn't growing into his role after such a wonderful first season .Touch of the Deles !

Then Aurier...why he keeps running into the back of oppo attackers to give oppo teams their one and only good chance to score i.e. from free kicks I do not know . What's happened to Doherty ?

On the upside , mebbe this result will help ensure the whole team does not switch off when a couple goals up in the future ..

...Haha but 50 years with Spurs tells me this is a fantasy .

Kane MotM

Those blaming Sanchez, Sanchez actually played really well until West ham started scoring.

1st goal was sissoko
2nd goal was Sanchez fault but a cracking finish from Sanchez
3rd goal was aurier and Winks.

How is this all Sanchez's fault?

For me, second half we sat back more so whatever the team talk was, it was shit.

West Ham did what West Ham do when they play us. Chalk it up and move on to the next one.

Kane MoM, obviously.

To my mind the lost two points was a collective effort so I’m going to say something negative about each player without discrimination, while starting off by acknowledging that at points we were very exciting to watch.

Lloris hand should have been firmer on the equaliser.

Aurier, even harshly, gave away the fatal free kick.

Alderweireid should’ve given away a penalty with that perfect tackle on West Ham, then if they’d scored we’d have been brought to life before using all our subs rather than panicked after using all our subs.

Sanchez had no business trying to had such a low quick ball.

Reguilón was done big time for the second goal.

Højbjerg touched and passed the ball too many times.

Ndombele came off the pitch and as such saw us relinquish any control over the midfield.

Sissoko gave up the dominant position too easily on the first goal.

Bergwijn looked off the pace and low on confidence.

Son was too magnificent, meaning that the rest of the team relied on him too much as an outlet and suffered when he came off as a result.

Kane only scored two and should’ve defied the exceptional keeping/ post from distance to her a third.

Bale didn’t demonstrate for a penalty when he was fouled as he lined up his shot. Should’ve take a leaf out of Lamela‘a book.

Winks should’ve hoofed it and known that Lanzini was about to hit the best shot of his career.

Lucas was not Son.

Sorry, but inside the first 5 minutes of the game he made three massive gaffes. He gave the sort of performance that unsettles everyone around him as he was prone to clearing the ball along the floor straight to an opponent at any moment.

People keep saying he played well which I find utterly bizarre.

Was shaky from minute one and we just looked so vulnerable at the back because of it.

I swear that's what gave West Ham the confidence to keep huffing and puffing until the death.

It's like they could literally smell it.

We'll be fine. West ham always pull off unlikely results against us. I think we got carried away and switched off.

But that's like saying the trip up the M1 was uneventful until we were stopped for driving North on the Southbound carriageway and causing a 30 car pile-up.

Kane,...........................................................9.......Outstanding
Ndombele, Reguilón,Son..................7.5.....Pretty damn good.
Hojbjerg......................................................6......Hmm, Not really
Toby, Aurier, Lloris, Winks....................5......They also serve who only stand and watch.
Sanchez, Bergwijkn,Moura, Jose.......4........Not today thankyou.
They were somewhat lucky with the last two goals but overall they deserved it.
A lesson learned? I doubt it.

Lloris 6 not much he could do with the goals imo.

Aurier 6 I thought he had a reasonable game but still gave the ref an opportunity to blow for that free kick.

Alderweireld 6 thought he handled Antonio pretty well and was relatively solid.

Sanchez 5 Shaky from the early minutes, misplaced passes and of course the OG, although I felt he could of done better it was too easy for them to get the cross in. I think he has too many lapses of concentration. West Ham could smell our vulnerability at the back and Sanchez was a big part of that.

Reggie 6 Great cross for Kane's header, but maybe a little wanting defensively. They got in too easy behind him at times. But he's exciting for sure.

PEH 6 thought he was reasonable and did what he does pretty well but West Ham had too much of the midfield second half for my liking and he's our boss now, so maybe off the pace a little in the second half.

Ndombele 7 I thought he was class first half. Dictating the play and some of his passing is just sumptuous. That defense splitter second half was wow. Honestly think had he stayed on we cruise that but Jose obviously thought he was running on empty.

Sissoko 5 didn't think he was great. Obviously was involved in their first goal but didn't do enough to help us out battle them centrally in the second half.

Bergwign 6 positive enough contribution but we want a bit more really don't we...

Son 8 blistering first half hour. Great early goal, assisted Harry and could of had another.

Kane 9 MOTM Just an unreal performance in every respect. I'd given him ten had he hit the hatrick.

Mourinho had a plan and for 70 minutes it worked well. Kane and Son tore them apart. NDombele was never going last the whole game and was rightly withdrawn. If Bale coming on with 20 to go, surprised anyone they need to boil their head. What hurt us was the way we became mentally sloppy. Apart from Sanchez's obviously misdirected headed clearance, both Aurier gave away senseless freekicks and scuffed several clearances. We went down like a balloon with the Winks incident the final embarrassment. Need to move on. We now have the most lethal attack in the EPL
