And Madrid havn't been that good in pre season either, They beat a young Inter side who certainly had their chances - but it was mostly youth that Mancini picked. And they labored against AC in a 0-0 draw.

Probably put the mockers on us now but here's to hoping we can put in a good performance even if its a friendly.
They put 4 past man city.

I think Dier as a midfielder is a tremendous waste, but what the fuck do I know.

Just hoping for no injuries today and tomorrow...that would be a successful "tourney."

All about fitness with the odd little experiment thrown in. Half the first team playing first half, half of it in the second. Nothing long term to read into the team selection imo.

From playing teams like Swindon to playing Real Madrid. It's been quite a trajectory for young Alli.

Playing two inexperienced CM's playing against the likes of Modric and Kroos will be one hell of a learning curb.

See I reckon if that were a 433 we'd be seriously good, Eriksen and Lamela could play make from wide and interchange/ roam at ease, while with Dier purely sitting both full backs could happily bomb on while he dropped back into a defensive three as Alli and Dembele would be more than steely enough to give us the 2 in the middle. Our squad is so easily built for a 433 it hurts.

Imagine two teams of:

Lloris
Trippier Alderweireld Vertonghen Rose
Dier
Mason Bentaleb
Lamela Eriksen
Kane

AND

Vorm
Walker Fazio Wimmer Davies
Veljkovic
Alli Dembele
Townsend Pritchard
Chadli

Ugh, I hate how much sense it makes because I know we will never see it!

All of a sudden all we really need is a first choice DM with Dier relegated to back up and maybe a third striker if we don't keep Soldado (or second with Chadli relegated to versatile backup for across the front 3).

Sure this has already been covered, but why on earth have 'Premier Sport' got such a high profile friendly tournament? Most of the rest have been on Sky/BT this summer, right?

Well at least we're winning the 'who's the best' poll on their page by about 7000 votes!

Someone owes Marcelo a kick in the face. I still hate him from celebrating getting Crouch sent off in the CL 1/4 final.

Thanks Trix! I'll be the one to read way too much into this and say this will be the team on Saturday:
Lloris; Trippier, Fazio, Vertonghen, Rose; Bentaleb, Mason; Lamela, Dembele, Eriksen; Kane
:cautious:

Chadli must be playing up front second half or else Kane is playing 90 minutes.
