Cheers. I might bring images back for a couple of the games, but it will depend on how much time i have to do them. Just having the text makes them much quicker.

No....

...but we do know there are posters that come into match day threads just to post their agendas and others just to troll. We will be keeping an eye on this and if posters keep doing it they wont have access to the match threads
I think the match day banners were excellent and always wonder how you do them. It looks as if you've used water colours.

due to travelling was unable to watch. just seen the highlights and disappointed to see a sloppy pass gave Bale the opportunity to score the 2nd.

however well Bentaleb and Mason did last season, they were both too guilty of giving sloppy passes away in crucial areas, and in our most important pre-season game so far Bentaleb guilty again.

losing 2-0 to a strong Real overall ain't a bad result, just a shame the way we conceded

I don't think its a big deal. Players would have been putting forth the same amount of effort on a training pitch if they were not in Germany.

From a marketing perspective - being mentioned alongside Bayern, RM, and even Milan - is good company to keep. Its good for the image of the team to be considered in that crowd - even if we are clearly on the fringe.

I also think ManUtd away, is the best opener we could get, since we aren't expected to get those points on the road. We could sneak a result as United is still gelling as a team, but losing does nothing to hurt our chances at top-4. Now, the next 3 games are more critical to me - getting 9 points from those games is more important than getting any points at OT.

This really doesn't make sense to me at least. How can losing to one of your top four rivals do anything but hurt your chances at top 4. Now I don't expect us to win as I think we have next to no chance of getting top four with our business this summer vs our supposed rivals (so far at least but the season starts in a few days) but playing a high profile friendly four days before the start of the season and losing doesn't seem sensible to me - this game should have been a week ago

Just filters in photoshop. Some images worked better than others.
If i could, i would have had them more realistic, but due to copyright i had to do something to them

what we already knew beforehand, highly questionable scheduling for commercial reasons, we are really short of options up front, levy yet again sees the cost of signing a player not the whole cost of signing him late in the window, bentaleb, rose, mason, walker all have a big mistake in the tank, vorm not a worthy successor to hugo.

what we learned today?

alli has that key confidence, almost arrogance, to go with his ball skills, lets give him time

wimmer is prett good on the ball, gives me the willies less than fazio

dier will never have the awareness or touch to play midfield.

anything else?

Yep Levy always knew these two fixtures were in the week leading up to an 8th August start, the 12.45 start away at Man U has just highlighted the recklessness of the decision. Just another example of off pitch profit being put above on pitch performance

I agree and it makes me more and more detached from the club in many ways. You can balance the commercial side with the playing side. This summer to me has shown we are more and more focused on the commercial but at least we no longer hide it - that Donna Cullen interview about how good a commercial success the U.S. Trip was made it clear what matters at Spurs in 2015 above all else

Didn't catch the game but by all accounts Alli made a real impression which is hugely encouraging but we absolutely need to temper our expectations with him and nurture him correctly.

So worrying our lack of attacking options though and without stating the bleeding obvious, you would think this will be rectified with at least two new faces in before September arrives.

As for Bale scoring, it was inevitable eh?

To get 70 points, we realistically need 8 points agains the top-5 all season. Get two wins at home, and two draws somewhere, and we have our points.

The difference between 70 points, and 64 that we go last season, is we took only 23 points against the bottom 5 teams in the league. If we want to be a top-4 team, we have to get 30 points against the 5 worst teams in the league.

So why did we enter this event :banghead:

Marketing exposure supersedes everything - even at the expense of points in the League lol
I'm sure we weren't the organisers first choice either, the likes of Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool probably turned it down because of the closeness to the new season. We were probably so flattered to be asked that we felt we couldn't refuse.

yes but no, we cannot afford to drop too many points before the window closes, and with Poch's fitness based approach we should really be aiming to be quick out of the traps and get some early points on the table while our rivals are still panting for breath. Also late signings are even more of a problem for Poch than for most managers - he is not going to push new signings straight into the first team; he will want to steep them in his patent formula first. So any signings late in the window we probably won't see much of until October at the earliest - and not then if they prove as resistant to his methods as did Stambouli.

I agree i also dont want us to lose points but this is The way levy does business towards the end of the window because Im guessing he feels there is more value to be found.
This isnt uncommon ground for us losing the first game or two until we fill those positions, this wont change until levy changes his MO or someone else takes the club over.
None of the above is going to change so what can we do regarding having a settled squad before the season starts.

Erm, Poch?
You think Pochettino is negotiating deals?

"Eeeehhhh... Umm... We are very heappy eeef schyou sing forr uzz."

No, I don't think for a second that Pochettino is part of any negotiations, he maybe talks to the players on the phone or something before they sign, that is about it I think. Levy, Baldini and co are the ones doing the transfer negotiations I belive.

Missed the game, did Bale celebrate his goal against us? Gonna need a lie even if he did.
