I think as a stop gap, to see us through to the summer Anekla would be a good move. A short contract would be fine, I still think he has something to offer, he is a winner and premership proven. It could be a shrewd move to help us sew up a Tiltlechallenge/2nd/3rd/4th place.

Anelka would be great, but there's about as much chance of us and Chelsea doing business together as Stephen Hawking has of winning 'rear of the year'.

The only reason Chelsea would do it, is because they have earmarked an expensive signing, but don't have a space in the 25-man squad, so would have to offload a senior player.

Would rather not do them the favour.

He would be on more than our top earners so I would say no, as he wouldn't even be a starter for me.

Anelka is still a good player. Would take him as a Pav replacement.

Agree with this, he'd make a good replacement for Pav and i imagine he'd be happy with the playing time he'd get at Spurs vs Chelsea.

I also think he has Harry improvement player written all over him, i think for half a season he could be the solution we're looking for, but i'd be tempted to get a loan deal for him rather than a perm move if possible.

Leverkusen have signed Leno on a permanent deal, Adler should definitely be available for a small fee in January.

Apparently Anelka wants to come and it would be on a free according to Philippe Auclair on talksport

Selling Pav, and getting Anelka in for a small fee as his contract is down to 6 months would be brilliant business.

Depends on his wage demands and if Chelsea would be willing to deal with us as we are such a threat to them atm.

Anyone not seeing we should sign a quality CB IF available is being shortsighted.

King and Gallas a re ticking timebombs, one wrong game and they can be out for months... assuming Bassong is leaving then that could leave us desperatly short and again, both King and Gallas are on borrowed time.

Would rather get that CB in now, bed them in and have them take over duties slowly but surely.

Agree on needing another striker, Leandro as the young hungry player is a good shout... not against Berbatov returning as long as he isn't intent on rocking the boat, but players returning to Spurs haven't exactly made the best impacts (recently).

I think everybody agrees if Bassong goes, he needs to be replaced. The management obviously think so as well as they pulled the plug on the QPR deal when they realised they wouldn't get Cahill.

Bassong is good for a 5th choice CB. I doubt we will be able to give an upgrade enough game time to keep him happy. Better the devil you know, imo.

Apparently they would be willing to let him go for free in january as they want shot of him and tbh he is behind Drogba, Torres, Sturridge and Lukaku atm

Tbh we do not need a CB, we have King who has played every game in the league except the ones we lost and drew.

You look at what we have and it is better than any other team in the league, and we have dawson and gallas to come back this season so the situation is not desperate,

In the long term and for next season we have Dawson, Kaboul, Caulker and Bassong(who in my opinion would be back to his first season form if he was play week in week out, but you cant expect him to if you have players like King and Gallas), also what CB would want to come this season and be behind King, Gallas, Kaboul and Dawson, and then potentially have a very experienced 20 year old come in july and take your place

I also think King will be a spurs player for another 2 seasons before he retires if he carries on going like he is

Analka is reasonable still a class striker and better than Pavluychenko.

A winger with pace quality that can operate both wings.
