Don't rate him.

I see players like that at Goals every week, where tricks, flicks and nutmegs are more important than anything else.

I play with a guy that can literally only dribble, gets to within shooting distance and dribbles some more, gets one on one with the keeper (who cannot come out) and tries to dribble round him, Not saying Bolasie is that bad but not far off, I'm more interested in how players use the ball (passing, shooting, crossing) than what pretty tricks they can do on it.

Three players who have stared in the PL this season;

Mane - Linked with 20m move to Manchester UTD, signed by Paul Mitchell.
Mahrez- ripping everyone a new hole, signed by Rob Mackenzie.
Wilson - stepping up to the PL really well at Bournemouth signed by David Webb.

All three now work for us.

I think we can be quite relaxed. The difficulty may come in their ability to 'gamble' - we all want established stars, I myself was disappointed with Njie because he wasn't an established name but looking at their record I'm sure he'll be good. Mahrez looks incredible and he cost 400k.

Why drop Chadli? He has the most of out mix of goals and assists right now. He's missed a couple of half chances but unlike the other attacking mids at least he's getting into positions.

Erikson and Lamela have done nothing so far this season.
To me Chadl is over rated, his stats may say different but for me he can't beat a player and doesn't have the pace we need. In compArison to a proper winger he flatters to deceive

Doesn't the fact that at the moment he is outperforming the other attacking mids so with our current personnel I wouldn't drop him.

I am sure I read last year the plan was another two seasons would start to see a settled team and indication of what we are aiming to achieve as a playing style.

We have starred season 1 of that strategy.

The plan was to shift the deadwood, bring in some more players and integrate some youngsters. Would imagine that more fine tuning / major buys will happen in winter / summer 2016.

This is happening, deadwood all but gone, by summer next year contracts end for the remaining. Ali and Carroll already being integrated, urgent positions being addressed, a little slow for some, and a transfer target list / strategy agreed by all.

Levy potentially is fucking some deals by rinsing the last cent out but by the 2nd hopefully we will have illy, saido plus maybe one more.

We are steering away from buying disruptive, prima donna, one season make dos, we are buying players who fit the strategy.

From all that I have read on the last two seasons of SC we are ticking boxes on the majority of problems. I am not a levy apologist and not especially a fan but I sure wish we'd shut the fuck up and judge him on this transfer window come the 2nd.

Particularly this window has seen some unbelievable comments on SC and it's embarrassing.

Slaughter me if you want but at least do it after the 2nd and please don't expect a response as I'm going back to lurking.

Drop Chadli for Bolasie LOL

This season: Chadli 1 goal, 1 assist, Bolasie zip

Last season: Chadli 11 goals, 5 assists, Bolasie 4 goals 6 assists

We really underrate our own players sometimes. Just go get someone new, anyone

I was disappointed more because Njie wasn't an established name but we paid established money. £12m is not 400k. If he was 400k, I'd be 'intriguing'. When we spend a fair wedge of our pot on someone who's literally had a handful of good games and his own fans don't care if he leaves & can't believe the fee, it's a tad concerning. As you say, let's hope he comes good. Bolasie seems more of the same to me, can't even get in the Palace team. But hey, who knows

I can see why people say Chadli is a frustrating player but his goals and assists record is very good for a wide player. But I bet most people would take Lennon in his prime as he was taking players on more often. The bottom line is though I don't think he ever got close to double figures for league goals.

Spot on regarding Bolasie.. Pardew is bigging him up, which seems strange when as you say he can't get into their team. If we've foolish enough to buy him, then I suspect Pardew and Parish will be pissing their pants laughing at us..

Um, what?

Not disbelieving you, merely asking for clarification- what do you mean his fans "don't care if he leaves and can't believe the fee"-- where did you hear this?

Le Libéro Lyon writer Hugo Hélin...

"To be honest, Tottenham might have overpaid. Njie only had six good months with Lyon, and some would even say only ten good games during that period. He progressed really quickly last season, so maybe he'll be worth £25m in a couple of years... or £5m. But right now most Lyon fans can't believe how high the transfer fee was. He had a great half-season last year, but he was honestly really lucky at times as a lot of his assists and goals went through the legs of a defender. He's still too young to be the first-choice striker in a top Premier League team."

Could be bollocks but the Lyon manager has said how much criticism he received for playing him from the fans. They have four forwards ahead of him, it's not like we're buying a regular - he's only started 15 games. And he looks very average on the games I've seen. But anyway.

He seems the quintessential little headless chicken to me, but let's hope he's more Lennon and less Dominguez I guess

His work rate is poor and he seems to only beat his man when he's in the mood, but, and it's a big but, our starting line up against Leicester had very little goal threat, Kane followed by Chadli, and that's about it, currently he can't be dropped.

So basically we've just vastly overpaid for the player version of Mauricio Pochettino.

Omg I literally feel sick...

Well, to counteract that: he scored against PSG so maybe he's a big game player. He also, as the guy said, progressed very quickly so there's potential there. He's also very fast and damn we need pace. He was also very well liked among the squad so won't bring baggage hopefully.

But people are conning themselves if they think we've signed a ready made starter. The French league is far inferior to the PL and he looked bang average in some games, we need to give him time. And he was something like 3,000% more expensive than Mahrez, for a bit of perspective.

But hey, nothing would please me more than him being a instant hit. I just hope we know what we're doing. After our last cash binge, it surprises me we paid so much without argument for someone so raw who will go off to ACN and from a fairly iffy league, yet are haggling with a proven quality British striker with premier league experience.
