He looks like a spurs player (obviously not PEH or Dier) has so much time on the ball and uses it so well

Impossible to judge anyone at that level really, it’s bottom half championship, top half league one level.
Disagree with this.

IMO, you can tell he is very good on the half turn with both feet, has good positional awareness to find space. Under pressure, the way he positions his body to receive on the turn and pivot away for pressure is also good (same can’t be said for Hojbjerg for example). Good reading of the opposing player’s movements in order to take clever touches away, whether to recycle or continue advancing, similar to Modric. He looks two footed too, which does not limit the angles he can play the ball, like it does for a lot of our players, for example Lo Celso who is very one-footed.

He has the technical ability to be a success anywhere. Question marks on his passing, shooting ability (as highlights from many matches across years don’t really give you a sense of those abilities, because they are bound to have a few decent shots and passes over an extended period), strength, defensive reading of the game. But Ange will know him better than anyone, so if he comes hopefully he has enough in his locker.

Who have they bought from Scotland?

Not sure but they’ve signed players from Japan, South America and elsewhere where leagues aren’t anywhere near the level of the PL. They signed Evan Ferguson from Bohemians. A player being impossible to judge due to the standard of the league they’re playing in is just simply not true.

So none from Scotland then.

That's irrelevant really. If we were trying to sign a player from Ecuador or Japan you'd be saying exactly the same thing. The point being made was that it is possible to judge players despite the league that they are coming from

He was saying about the quality of the SCOTTISH league. I asked how many players Brighton had signed from Scotland and the answer is NONE. That was the conversation, i wasn't talking about other leagues :wacky:.

You're being pedantic. Unless the Scottish league is the worst league in the world it's very relevant to the argument that they've signed players from lesser leagues.

The answer isn't 'NONE'. It's three in the last seven years.

They signed Ben Hall from Motherwell in 2016, Josh Kerr from Celtic in 2017 and Gary Dicker from Kilmarnock in 2021.

Who are they?

Not a fucking clue.

Does this support or undermine anyone's arguments in this thread?

Genuinely don't care.

Although if it helps stop the incessant SC sucking off of Brighton as some wonder club, then I'm all for that.

So why did I post?

It just annoys me when people state something as a fact, IN BIG CAPITAL LETTERS, when they can't be arsed to look it up.

Nothing worse than a wrong pedant.

Anyway, that's enough from me.

Bye.
