Don't hate this as much as most due to the Poch link and assuming it wouldn't affect our move for Berahino. That said I expect him to go to WBA once we get our man.

Don't think this one is true. Rather sign Llorente, better in the air, and will put in a shift. Could possible pair up with Soldado as well in Europa. Lambert won't be able to do any of that.

Wouldn't be a good signing IMO. He obviously be back up and at Liverpool he struggled with his form/fitness because he didn't play every week.

Think if poch wants him, he is worth the risk, he will also be on the bench for us, so if he can get him for a decent price. Then why not.

Poch has work with him before, and he will need less time to fit in his style could be a good thing with the season starting soon.

Tbh for a third choice striker he'd be a decent purchase. Familiar with Poch's philosphy, ideal replacement for Kane in terms of stature and presumabley wouldn't mind being back up.

We'll be a laughing stock if we sign this fella. Doesn't fit the apparent direction we are going in and would be a joke of a signing
What's the problem with this signing? He'd be cheap. He'd be on ok wages assuming he accepts a pay cut from Liverpool. He previously prospered under our manager. He's experienced and may add something to our younger players in training. He won't get upset at being 2nd or 3rd in the pecking order. He can (could) score.
Who gives a monkey's what other club fans might say if he benefits our light squad?

LIVERPOOL AND WEST BROM IN TALKS FOR LAMBERT

Liverpool are in talks with West Brom over a deal for Ricky Lambert but a deal is yet to be reached, according to Sky sources.

Good. Means we won't be getting him and hopefully pushes Berahino in our direction.

Guess the story involving us and Lambert was either bullshit or had a bit of truth in it and we were threatening WBA that we'd go in for Lambert unless they weakened their stance/lowered their demands for Berahino

Well, in that case they could just let us get Lambert and don't sell us Berahino.

Before the "link" to Lambert, just about everyone was down on the possibility of signing Llorente - too old now, not worth the time, this isn't three years ago, etc.

Now, I see comments like "I'd rather sign Llorente."

Ok, Levy. I see what you're doing.

Honestly wouldn't be against it on the cheap.

Like 2/3 million for a third choice that Poch likes seems alright.

Based on our second half performance alone, we need someone who can get on the end of crosses in a crowded penalty box on a regular basis. We need a presence. He'd give us that, would work hard, Poch got the best out of him before and he'd cost next to nothing. He'd be an ideal third striker for the coming season.

Having said that, we won't get him, I'm sure our interest was to spur west brom along and we can play the, "we won't go for lambert if we can talk to Berahino" card which is so often rumored but probably never happens in practice.

whilst I believe this link to us is bs, why the arrogant talk? Strange no one mentioned he won't fit poch style of play as we know he does.

As a third striker, yes I am down for it.
