I think it's an interesting discussion, as it's the only way we won't win a shit load of trophies. It's the only reason a player may want to leave. So why shouldn't it be discussed. You can't keep spamming people, discuss it and put your points across

Its not "the only reason" a player may want to leave.

Typical hyperbole from you mate.

Why are footballers wages always quoted per week instead of per annum like any other profession.

Rose if he is on £30k per week earns £1.6 M per annum, not too shabby at all.

You would hope the players are driven by more than just money.

Yes and No. If Rose is on 30k a week, and Walker 50k, then no wonder they are annoyed. Look at how much sissoko is getting?

Plus if City or United are prepared to offer 150k a week who could blame em?

Levy needs to renegotiate and stop this from dragging and ruining squad harmony
We had already signed Sissoko when they penned these five year + contracts.

If their salaries were fair 30 league games ago (fewer in some cases), they are fair now.

No chance Rose is only on 30k a week. Ridiculous to even to think it's remotely close to that number.

Imagine paying Gareth Bale £600k a week lol
They weren't on that when they first joined. It's ridiculous I know, we could never compete financially. But my point was, money talks. I suppose when Man City won the lottery, all those world class players sign up because it was a dream to play for City. Or when Chelsea finished 10th and still signed world class, that was because they dreamt of not having to play European football.

.

Weird, isn't it. Like quoting for day rates in guineas. There are plenty of sectors where remuneration is calculated per hour - which might make their pay seem all the more startling.

Sorry what would be the other reason? Homesickness??

Perhaps it's his wife that wants to move back closer to her family. Perhaps he's had an affair and she wants him to move away. Perhaps he has been here a long time and wants to experience something new in what is a short career. Perhaps he's had a falling out with someone at the club. Perhaps he's been told the plans/players his future employers are trying to buy and that excites him. Perhaps he has always admired the manager he is looking to sign for, and can't miss the opportunity to play under him. Perhaps he has been told the guy he's competing with currently is going to get more game time and so he will get less et etc etc....

Maybe its one of these, a combination of them, or none of them, but all these are 100% reasons why players have moved clubs in the past, and I'm sure there are an awful lot more as well.

Bollocks!! What about the millions that work in the care industry, nurses, military, charity workers etc. Money may be the be all and end all for you, but a lot of people do what they do for a living because they care and love what they do.

Yes as @Trix says above, a player might want to leave for any number of reasons. We've had a couple of good seasons and people are now expecting/almost taking for granted that players will now be with us for the rest of their careers. The occurrences of this happening gets even rarer in modern football.

Lets take Walker for example (if the rumours are true...), he's already been here for, what, 8-9 years at this point. An eternity by football standards. He's into the second half of a short career now, maybe he just wants a change and a new experience. Lots of people in all walks of life do exactly the same. Wont be the first, wont be the last.

I'm off to cross reference those people annoyed that Rose isn't being paid enough to those people who didn't think Rose deserved a new contract when he signed it. Basically, you're just a big bunch of angry people with too much internet privilege.

Says the man with 45,ooo posts and time to cross reference threads. :ROFLMAO:
