well why should we look to buy him? sure he's young, pacey, strong, has a fiece hit and is a decent finisher but we are overstocked in the forward department right now. It will be tough to improve on defoe and harry kane

I reckon he'd he worth a look at for that price. Realistically we have one senior striker, and an as yet unproven teenager. We need two more senior strikers. Signing Rondon, reasonable if not prolific scorer in la liga, but at only 22 still improving and will get better. In all honesty I've not seen him play, so am only going on second hand info, but on here people are saying he's a beast physically, so put him on the end of some of our flair players and the chances will come, as he matures he will improve. Whilst we cannot offer CL football, or top table wages, we need to take a punt on some up and coming talent, move onto the next level together, in the same way as when we signed Modric, Berbatov...
The other thing that may do, is prompt Adebayor/City to pull their fingers out if it looks like we're moving on.

For me if you're happy with Leandro Damiao for the 20m+ he'll cost, you should be happy with Salomon Rondon for under 10m. Similar potential and playing style, except we can maybe afford a Moutinho or a Remy with Rondon. Coming from someone who has seen both of them multiple times.

Backup for Adebayor is fine with me.

If we actually sigh Ade that is!... looking increasingly unlikely by the day. Starting the season with just Defoe (lets hope he doesnt get injured btw!!) smacks of last season starting with Livermore and Nikko in centre mid rather than shelling out the extra few quid for Parker- instead we waited til deadline day for that as per usual- its gonna be similar thing this season. Levy needs to realise that points in August as just as valuable as they are in March/April so shouldnt be forsaken for the sake of brinkmanship/penny-picking.

13 days until Newcastle and we still haven't even wrapped Ade up while teams around us are all stronger or have signed players we've been linked with before.

Target after target going elsewhere, ITK is all big news, patience, blah blah blah...exciting times, these things take time.

I'm sick of the same lines and excuses.

August is always the same shitty fucking groundhog day. If nothing is done this week I'm officially fucking pissed off.

what's the odds that he does really well there and we're linked with him in 12 months time for double the price?

Rondon confirmed by Rubin.

Now I won't confess to have seen a great deal of him and many have said he is not good enough for us.

Many said Pappis Cisse wasn't good enough for us.

I look forward to us making our new striker signing. And soon I hope.

Really unfortunate. He could have been a really nice guy to develop. Plenty of potential and he could have played a nice role in the Europa squad.

Hardly any of you had a clue who he was til we were 'linked' now he's gone to Rubin you're all up in arms. If he was really worth our time he'd not be going to Rubin Kazan without anyone else even coming close to making a deal for him.

Just because a bigger team didn't go in for him means he's no good.

If we sign suitable strikers then great but it doesn't mean that Rondon is useless and wouldn't have been a good fit here.

That logic is so stupid.
