If AVB wanted a moutinho type so much, why didn't he identify someone else, who was an attainable target, that plays the same way? The argument has no basis because AVB has since gone out and picked Paulinho and Capuoe, who play nothing like moutinho.

You cant tell me there's not a single other player on earth who plays the same way as Joao Moutinho

Maybe he didn't get as much say as he would've liked....

I agree with you. I don't know if he did, or didn't. He's gone, and we don't know why that didn't happen. Personally, it makes no sense whatsoever. We had other targets, but can't remember who, before we signed Eriksen at the end of the window.

I was pro-AVB, even after the Man City result, as City would have trounced a lot of teams playing the way they did. However, I have been watching Spurs since 1961 (I know......) and I have seen some terrible performances, but last Sunday was the first time I ever saw a Tottenham Hotspur team give up before half time against anyone. That kind of disease requires immediate and radical surgery.
I know, mate. Me, born '60 and started supporting Spurs at 5 or 6. He had to go, and we've seen them all! Had high hopes for AVB, but when someone like Lennon gives up running, something as sure as shit is seriously up!

makes me laugh how people blame a formation for our woes, talk about clutching at straws. even then the terrible 442 had us 1-0 up and it was only when we changed to everyone's favourite 451/4231/4411/whatever you want to call it that conceded twice and lost.

Spurs lost because, after creating numerous chances, they only scored 1 goal... didn't finish their chances, everything hinged on that, end of really...

Agree with that. We had chances, and looked a lot more threatening than we have, at least in the first half. Players lost their coach, they don't know what's going on, we're all sixes and sevens obviously. Hammers had their day, but at the end of that day, they'll still be the Hammers. We've got bigger things to consider. We're a bigger club.

Who do you support? You that weird Liverpool fan who has posted 1000 times on another team forum?

are you really asking that. says more about your lack of understanding than anything else. perhaps I should split my posts into two; one that is aimed at one set and one that spells everything out in the most simplified way possible.

so for your benefit I support tottenham hotspur.

That is so true. It was just like watching a team from the 90s. With the addition of offside Defoe. Did Tim think he was still at blackburn?

also how was he in charge of anything"technical"?

I've been going to the Lane and supporting us for 40 years and been through all the highs and lows.At the start of this season I was genuinely excited about our prospects, quality signings if a bit short in areas we needed and AVB looked to be the man to take us forward. Now I am looking at my beloved club and can only think of the words clueless and disappointed.
Please for all of us that follow this club, spend the money and get us the right man, the one who has the CV, the one that knows how to get the best from the players, and the one that cares whether we win or not. Who? I don't really have the answer but even if I did it would make no difference, but just sort it out once and for all for this great Football Club.

Jesus. You want me to start naming chairmen we could bring in? As I just posted in the actual thread dedicated to this I'd actually rather he took a step back than to step down. I don't think the chairman should be so involved in the football side of things. All I want is a manager to be backed by him and given more than five minutes regardless of results. I understand if we start completely falling apart and relegation becomes a serious possibility or whatever. Then yeah the manager isn't probably right for the job. But if you look where we actually were when AVB went, that's what I feel is wrong. I feel it's a grave mistake to have stepped in so soon and shown him the door. I'd rather he stepped back, gave the boss more time and see if he will get it right. Especially given what AVB had already achieved I think it's the least he deserved with a completely new team new to each other and new to the league etc.

"Especially given what AVB had already achieved"

What exactly did AVB achieve?
