OP designed to grab attention

1 game vs 18 months of dirge

I don't believe and I am sure many others don't believe that was the best side we could have put out last night

Systems don't really matter if you have good leadership and good players. We don't have enough of the former certainly and we do have better players than many clubs

We still don't know if AVB was actually sacked.

That's what I keep thinking.

Things we can logically assume are:

1. People at the club seemed to like him (and in his own way he seemed likeable).
2. Levy has been through this enough times to not be reactionary. If he had an itchy trigger finger why not sack AVB after West Ham (part 1!) or Man City?
3. In any part of life, conversation and compromise seem better than hiring and firing especially given how much it will cost to replace all the back room staff.

So its not beyond possibility that Levy sat down with AVB and said, what's happening, what can be done and what about these suggestions?

If AVB said I can't tolerate any interference and walked, there's not a lot Levy could do.

I honestly worry several of the players we have bought in are not good enough for top 4, and it doesn't matter which formation we use we are going to struggle at times

Who do you think we are? Barcelona, Bayern Munich? It's funny because what pisses me off about Spurs fans - you're exhibit A.

No Southampton, Everton.

What pisses you off exactly? People not adhering to what you believe is the right opinions?

One must be a lunatic to think that damage that was done to this team in a season and a half can be fixed overnight.

I don't. Lloris, Capoue, Eriksen,Paulinho, Soldado are good enough without a doubt. Then you add in Walker, Verts, Sandro and I think we are getting there. I haven't yet seen enough from Lamella, but I suspect he is too.

Agreed. And it is almost literally overnight wasnt it. I mean we are measuring in hours since AvB was sacked. Not weeks or months.

what was supposed to happen.

What damage? What was the problem? That a few people didn't like the way it looked? Really? A few losses and people having a sulk. The club needs to "man up".

Why have you got to sound like a dick? Just talk man there's no need to be a smart arse.

So you've been happy with every single window? When we'd need a striker we'd sign two defenders and a goalkeeper. When we still need a striker and a defender we'd sign something else. A lot of the deals seemed to be just good deals for players that were available at good prices rather than what we actually needed to be bringing in. And the past window was just crazy. It's not that we haven't bought good players it just the timing and how the players were bought that wasn't the best.

Oh, the irony.............;)

No fans like you who think we have a divine right to win 5-1 every game sweeping our opposition aside with beautiful free flowing attacking football just so you feel 'entertained'

Our highest points tally ever? Out best win ratio as a manager in the whole Premier League era?

This winds me up a tad, sorry. Yeah we got the highest points tally ever... but still finished 5th! Points tally is irrelevant when 4 teams get even more on a consistent basis. That gives more of a portrayal of the league than the team. Capello had one of, if not the highest win ratio of any England manager... but we were still shit.

I'm not particularly anti or pro AVB; I liked him, he seemed to fit the club and he was devilishly handsome. I even grew a ginger beard and parted my hair on side I was so taken. But we've become a mid table team again this season, regardless of the reasons, and win ratios and total points mean dick all when faced with terrible, terrible, Graham era-esque displays.

In response to OP; Did I get what I wanted? I wanted all our new signings to click, for Eriksen to be our new Luka, Lamela to be our new Bale, and Soldado to be our new Rafa; I wanted us to be bothering the top 3 and to be shafting Arsenal in their backyard (oo-er). And I sure as hell didn't want to see us returning to uncultured, huff and puff olde englishe 4-4-fookin-2, run out of bluster and lose to West fookin Ham in the sodding League Cup.

So no, I sure as shit didn't get what I wanted from Spurs, and haven't since about August.

I'm not even massively concerned about this bit (it would be nice mind), I just like watching good football, us doing well. I don't worry about winning every game 5-0 at a stroll, that'd be boring. But I really, really hate seeing us getting dry fucked on a monthly basis, especially at home, and especially by teams like Newcastle and West Ham. That shit hurts.

"Few losses", is this how you are going to describe the recent debacle that looked like a freaky Titanic accident?

Do you honestly think that 442, running about a bit quicker than we were before and pinging aimless crosses into the box is even a step on the ladder to repairing anything? We had less shots on targets than a West Ham team lead by Carlton f*cking Cole for god sake.

Sherwood made so many mistakes in that game that it's difficult to list them all. In actual fact just about the only thing he got right was bringing Ade back in from the cold, that's been needing to happen for a while.

Also, first thing he does after the match, blame someone else for the problem - 'The players were tired' - he's obviously been learning at Harry's feet on how to deflect any criticism.

At the end of the day even the 'saving the team for the weekend' excuse (which I'm not even sure is what he was doing) is crazy as well.

The team needs confidence and our best players (including the three we spent nigh on 70m on - Soldado, Lamela and Eriksen) need time playing together.

Both of which would have been satisfied by them playing a full 90 together and knocking West Ham's second f*cking string out of the cup so we could enjoy a semi final.

The sooner the club get a proper manager in charge the better.
