Not for me. We've tried the 'flavour of the month' route before and its never worked out for us. Lose two games and SC would be full of why doesn't he speak english threads and all that guff. A disaster waiting to happen.

To be fair, Sherwood's the managerial equivalent of a coffee cream and look how that's gone down. We could bring Bill Nicholson back from the dead and some people would find a reason to moan.

Don't know about you but personally I would enjoy the 'Why did Levy appoint a zombie as manager' threads.

It could be a good move, I doubt the FA and FIFA rulebooks have anything ruling against managers devouring the opposing manager's brains.

Tino strikes me as Ramos mk2, has found his niche after years of achieving fuck all, same as Ramos did at Sevilla

With Sherwood getting 13 out of 15 and scoring already almost as many as AVB did all season any talk of change atm is agenda driven nothing more

Shaw, Lovren, Lallana and Lambert swapped with Sigurdsson, Holtby, Chadli, Rose, Kane, Mason, Falque and a Bentaleb loan and 10m pounds sounds a fair deal to me :cautious:

:rolleyes::bag:

I took the 18 month contract as Levyspeak for "you have till the end of the season to prove yourself".
Levy is hedging his bets and wants a more experienced manager coming for a long haul stint but will gauge the fans mood and allow for the chance that Timotei will do a Pep and turn out to be a managerial whiz.

If that came about then he'd be in baldy heaven as Timto could potentially bring through genuine money-spinning youth product to the first team.

In that respect TS is his most ideal manager of all time. Tim will have to perform some wizardry shit for this to take place though. Because if shinehead keeps wideboy and the shit hits the fan the fans will never ever forgive him for fucking up what was thought to be the dawn of a new era for us at the end of the summer window.

I think he is still very much a stop-gap.

That's my take on the situation.

They could hardly be more different: Juanque spent nearly 15 mediocre years in management with about 10 clubs before getting the Sevilla berth. Pochettino had just the best part of three ho-hum seasons with Espanyol (which gives him more top-flight experience than Villas-Boas).

Corrected.
To be fair, Timmy is the managerial equivalent of a experimental toffee that no one has tried. Trouble today is toffee is not liked as much as it use to be.

Why does Katharina Liebherr think she can run a football club than a person who has actual experience and loves the game? Some people are just fucking nut jobs. I feel sorry for Southampton, they could implode because of one persons sheer stupidity!

So was Villas-Boas the managerial equivalent of an experimental toffee that someone else had tried and spat out?

I expect that Suarez has a long and distinguished career in management ahead of him then.

Its funny. This woman, who probably has not worked a day in her life, inherited billions and probably does absolutely nothing but spend it all on women stuff...and obviously food. Lots and lots of it, apparently. Yikes.

But that's besides the point, this woman probably has not worked a day in her life and probably has no clue about running a business. I've read that she wanted to be involved with the club, well that's all fine and dandy, but not if you have no fucking clue what you are doing. So I am under the impression that this is not because of selling players, but because she wants to sell the club and wanted to take over to maintain the asset's worth. She probably wants another pet project instead, and since football is a man's thing, she's going to sell her father's pet project in order to finance her's. Maybe Cortese refused all the offers to stay and resigned knowing she is going to sell so he wants to come back in with a group of investors and buy the club from her? Probably Southamptons best hope at this point....

Yay! Let's go down the Ramos/Villas-Boas route! You know Flavour-of-the-Month makes sense!
AVB certainly wasn't flavor of the month when we hired him.
The other thing is that Ramos is the only manager that Levy has appointed who has got us some silverware and the other managed to get us to 5th place when we sold two of our best players. So it's certainly disingenuous not to give them any credit at all.
