I dont think its the bid itself mate, more that the owners have not dismissed it out of hand which is what the Chairman has been saying for awhile now, he says no players going out, the manager then says no players going out...but the owners are looking at this bid for a player...id say its more about being made to look like a tit and not being backed by the people above him who i would assume said they wouldnt sell, and as the chairman for Saints is massive cog in the wheel....it is very large deal.
If its a massive bid, the club would be stupid not to look at it. The chairman and manager should know that. Especially since the chairman is a banker by trade.

I like Sky's version of selling the club better. More juicy.

While you are not wrong, its either The Chairman had assurances that any bid would be turned down for any player or the Chairman went out on a limb and said it off his own back, i cant for the life of me think its the latter as he wouldn't be in a war of words with the owners..i think he has been done here and if thats the case he probably cant stay there as he has been undermined.

Fuck the summer, now! He might actually play Lamela too

Maybe, maybe not. Pochettino isn't afraid to make tough decisions and isn't someone who just lets flair players in to do what they want. They have to work hard and stick to his system or they don't get in the team. Look at Ramirez at Southampton for example, bit-part player.

Don't want to give Sherwood a chance, no?
I've wanted Tino as soon as AVB got sacked so very hard for me to not be uber excited about the chance potentially opening up now their chairman has left.

When TS took over and I heard that shinehead had been talking to LVG, that seemed like a decent alternative in my mind for the summer if Tino was out of reach.

TS has still got his chance until the summer, that's on default now.

I'd want to see the same level/mix of: organisation, dynamism, endurance, endeavour, tactical/strategic planning, consistent intensity of play/tempo that Tino has brought to s'ton, for me to want TS in his place though.

If we employ Tino, will you be giving the same amount of time, you've given TS?

1. For the 89489488378372767661761712892nd time he does speak English, just not to the press.

2. No chance of us ever getting Shaw, stop suggesting it.

And for the 89489488378372767661761712893rd time, its to the press that matters. After the so called importance attached to every uttering Harry makes, do you really think this wouldn't be an issue as soon as it was convenient for it to become one on SC? ;)

Ok but you've given him until the summer, so if we employ Tino in the summer you'll be giving him the same amount time right?
Levy has given tim an 18month contract but we all know it's likely that he'll want a more experienced manager in from the summer.

I've seen enough from Tino to be comfortable giving him a couple of seasons to exercise his skills with our players. I've watched s'ton closely because I like him. I'm convinced by his methods on observing them.

Not seen enough of timotei's goods and would need the reservations I have about his methods to be resolved, as already stated. Can only call it as I've seen it thus far.

Tim might blow everyone's socks off in the next 4 months, it's possible. Until then my position is set.

The reasoning behind your pointed question is wonky btw.

I took the 18 month contract as Levyspeak for "you have till the end of the season to prove yourself".

Why is it?
You are giving one guy a couple of seasons and the other about half a season, hardly seems fair.
