Amazed that this is the first time we have faced Sporting Lisbon competitively

Got family that support Sporting

fwiw says Nunes is a big loss / their best player and rates Marcus Edwards

thinks they are a few notches below us in ability

let’s see though

We will win this comfortably like we have most games this season

People need to start to realise how much we control games, just because it isn’t high octane, doesn’t mean it’s not good.

We are an incredibly accomplished side, with a weeks rest. Be very disappointed if we don’t win this

*votes Sporting win on the poll ??

Conte said in the press conference “The postponed game allows me to make a different decision. Against Man City, I would have played with certain players but now I change things in my mind.”

I’d be surprised if that doesn’t mean that he wanted Son to play at the Etihad but now will let him start from the bench.

Could easily mean he would have started Son against City and then rested him against Sporting. Now doesn't need to rest him so he plays tonight. We could read in tobthis whatever we want really. Whoever plays I am confident we will have enough to win the game.

Didn't realise they aren't doing too well domestically, we should be beating these..

I heard on the radio Spurs have lost 6 of the last 7 European away ties, the other being a draw. Addmitedly, a good few of those were in minor European competitions where we would have been understrength.

I'd take a draw tonight. A win would be fantastic. Defeat is not the end of thecworkd though.

I'm going for a score draw.

I bet loads of people aren't going to realise this is an early kick off. ?
And the CL youth league game Spurs v Sporting is even earlier at 11am.

There was talk of Storm Danielle causing torrential rain in Lisbon yesterday & today but the forecast for late afternoon today looks OK.

You're right - it's a 'must not lose', rather than a 'must win'.

You don't smash Frankfurt 3-0 away unless you're handy

Ooh.....according to the Twitter guy (POK) front 3 will be Kulu, Kane and Richy (which i think most will be happy with). Also, Perisic, Emerson and Lenglet will start. He's 9 times out of 10 correct with the lineups (i've noticed).

He's generally good - think he definitely has a contact that feeds him team news - but he got 3 wrong for the Fulham game. He did make it clear that he wasn't confident about his prediction that time, though, so I presume he didn't get any news from his contact and was just guessing.

No mention of lack of confidence + same day prediction makes me think he'll be dead on the money about tonight's game (y)

On form that's our best three upfront

Sporting CP will be a bigger test than last week. Watching highlights from their recents matches - they look very good and will be a match for us, lets hope its not embarrassing . The match will pan out the same way with us sitting deep. Richarlison should be buzzing, Son is due to score so hope defensively we are solid with no errors. Hope its not a bad day.

Agree they're very good, and away from home it's going to be a challenge. Although I have heard (but done no research...) they play a very high line, so interested to see if they abandon that against one of the better counter-attacking teams in Spurs.

They are a busy team. It’s all about how good individually they are and how they are able to compete. We need to be at our best .

This will be a tough game if we play like we did against Marseille. I do think we are much stronger and hope we play like it.

Feel like 'very good' might be stretching it a bit. They lost a bunch of their best players over the summer and their only truly impressive result this season is against a Frankfurt side who are having a dodgy start to the season themselves.

They clearly have some good technical players and we need to respect them, but we're odds on favourites to win away from home against them for a reason.

Want to see Bissouma today. Conte said he was a step behind Hojbjerg and Bentancur after West Ham and although that step can be made up with more training he needs to play more matches for us. Conte keeps going on about having a big squad but there’s no point having squad depth if you are reluctant to use it.
