Would like to hear @rossdapep take on how he see’s this one going?
Well, I have not really watched Sporting recently, especially since they lost their two best players.

However, Almorim sets his teams up to be compact but aggressive. Think we'll have much more possession than we did against Marseille but they may look to catch us out.

We'll need to be very sharp

Predicting a pretty un-inspiring first half where we get our first shot on target after 40 minutes and score just before the break, then we'll comfortably ride out the second half with a 2-0/2-1 win and people on here will claim that "we can't get away with doing that for much longer...".

Yeah lets not overstate things, very good is a massive stretch. They are already 8 points off the pace in the league and didn't city spank them 5-0 at their place this year, and that was before they lost anyone.
I don't think losing 5-0 to city for any team means an awful lot. On their day city can do that to anyone.

They're a good team, it's a hard game, probably the hardest in the group. They've had a poor start to the season, that happens it doesn't really mean much either.

Is it an hour before the kick off that we make the 'moan about who is and isn't rested' line-up announcement, or is it different for Champions League games?

Midfield will be a fun battle today, would love to see Bentancur play so he can match up against his compatriot Ugarte.

Very dissapointing lineup. Starting Son who has been woeful (Fulham and Southampton aside) again and benching Kulu (one of our better players) 3 games on the bounce is completely the wrong message to the rest of the squad. What’s the point in squad depth if Conte refuses to drop underperforming starters.

Would've preferred Deki over Son but the I'm not shocked Conte has decided to stick with him. I guess we'll know if Son is really "undroppable" is he starts again on Saturday.
He'll probably score a hat-trick tonight then lose his place against Leicester. ?

Personally I've given up caring who starts and who doesn't up front. We have 4 top class players who should be able to get the job done against any team, regardless of the combination. That in itself is something we haven't had in my lifetime.
