Spurs fans, fancy an 11-a-side match against a team of Spartak fans on 18 Dec?

Just to let everyone know, Ostrov has kindly agreed to liaise with Pata and help organise this on your behalf.

I'm guessing he'll be needing help such as someone to 'coach' the team etc etc and i'm sure he'll be posting shortly for the helps he'll need.......but yeah, he's the guy to contact....'kay?

Naturally, if we lose, the manager will be subject to a witch hunt.

Juande Ramos might be available then?

They sound bloody good, will definitely need a trial and couple of training sessions.

Anyone know if any of their games are on the internet anywhere we might be able to figure them out in advance.

Would be well up for and still play. Decent centre half or defensive midfielder. 24 and fitness is pretty good. My problem is I am in Kent so bit of a mission and if that is on a match day I also work at the Lane so might not be able to. Depending on date/time will have to decide. Very keen to if can.

We need to get some ringers on board.

I wonder if Clive would be available..

I'd love to play, but if these guys are really good, I'd probably let spurs down.

Well yeah... I've never actually played 11-a-side before... I've been playing 5-a-side weekly for the past two years though, and I fancy that I'd be better suited to 11-a-side.

One of our WAGs filmed bits of the match when Spartak played in Oxford but there was some problem with the recording and a year later it still hasn't been put together, unfortunately. Might follow up on that, actually.

Also, those concerned with their fitness - you gotta realise that these chaps are not exactly a bunch of kids - at 28, this other lad and l will probably be their youngest players.

Are they dirty?

Nope, not at all - they understand what these games are about and play it in the right spirit. I understand the 1st game against England fans was threatening to boil over as the England lot started getting pissed off about being beaten and started putting in a few bad challenges, so the Russians just said "Look, lads, this ain't right, we could start taking your legs too, have a mini-riot... but that's not what this game's about, is it? Get over it."

Hi, lads!

I finalise provisional squad early next week and everyone who offered to play will be invited for first get together.

We need to think about a decent, convenient place to arrange trial/training.

Please, share your ideas in this respect.

This sounds fantastic! I will hope to come down from Oxford to support. Watched Shinnik Yaroslavl' vs. Spartak when I lived in Russia - the Spartak fans are crazy! Great idea Pata - were you at Christchurch?

Yep, 1998-2001. Great times. :)

Actually, if you lads pull a team together and fancy a game at the Christ Church Sportsground in Oxford on 20 December (only a few days after the planned Spartak match, I know), let me know and I'll speak to my ChChFCOBTC lot. We were supposed to play a team of Dulwich fans but they couldn't get a side out.

Have we got enough interested to have an 11v11 match?

By the look of it we have 26 bodies at the mo :)

So, if everyone turns up we can have 11x11 match.
Difficult to say who lives where but if we have in mind Paddington Recreation Ground to play Spartak, then there's sense to train there as well.

What do you think?
