there are teams lesser than West Ham?
Tblisi reserves.
there are teams lesser than West Ham?
To start with, I'm not sure he has been really.
Secondly, even if he has been great this season, you have to pick the right players for the right game and if West Ham sit back then I'm not sure how much Townsends pace is really going to help us.
How enlightening.
Sandro has played against lesser teams than Chelsea, and West Ham.

The back five pick themselves really. Only if is Rose, if he is unfit then I suppose Naughton has to go in there.
The midfield is so tricky to pick due to our insane amount of options and the need to keep everyone happy, in form, involved, fit etc. Also weighing those things up against the needs for the style we want to impose on a particular opponent makes the decision that bit harder.
Anyway, I decided to go with Sandro and Holtby as the 'two'. Sandro needs to be brought back in to the league team to help bring him up to speed and Spam seem a good opportunity to do this. I cant imagine him being too tested here and it would give Paulinho and Dembele further rest as they have both played a lot recently. I don't want to see Dembele burnt out like he was last season and the spectre of his hip injury looming large in the background is something that I would always consider. We need him for the big matches so resting him for Spam is giving others a chance and him recuperation time. Paulinho looked knackered against the chavs. A bit more rest will do him the world of good. Obviously they wold both be on the bench and at least one of them is likely to get minutes as Sandro might not be able to last a full 90 in the league yet.
Holtby has played his way in to the team as far as I am concerned. His performances in the Europa League have been excellent and he deserves a chance to transfer that to the league campaign. With Paulinho and Dembele needing a rest and Holtby deserving a start it works out well. I think Sandro and Holtby will complement each other really well.
Townsend is playing well but I would like to see him playing from the left. Getting to the by-line and putting crosses in. Eriksen as the ten is a given (for now) and I would play Lamela on the right. I think Spam will be a good game for him to start. They will park the bus and him and Soldado seem to play well together. Good, on the floor football, add in Holtby and Eriksen and I really think we can tear Spam a new one. If it clicks then it will be great for Lamela's and Soldado's confidence. I would also like to see a bit more inter-changing of positions from our attacking players. We seem very static at the moment, even predictable dare I say it? I would like to see Lamela and Townsend swapping flanks regularly.
Soldado starts this one for me as I just think that things are going to click for him here. If not, then I would drop him down to the Europa and give Defoe the next league match and see how things go for Soldado in the Europa and JD in the league.
Hope chadli starts instead of siggy, I know siggy has got a few goals but his all round play has been pretty pedestrian as far as I'm concerned. Also chadli is a unit, siggy gets knocked over by a stiff breeze and when playing against a team managed by a Toby jug with slightly less charisma, it safe to say there will be a fair bit of strong arm tactics
The rest of the team picks itself, especially with kaboul's injury and I don't think Lamela is ready for the kind of shoeing he'd get from those morons. Would like townsy and chadli to swap from time to time and give Soldado some different looks on front of goal. Do not start Defoe, I repeat do not start Defoe for the love of god. Super sub should be his role and it's one he performs well
How does that make a difference to your argument? You said we lost the midfield against Chelsea (or some such) and therefore we should play Sandro so we don't lose the midfield against West Ham. However Chelsea are not West Ham, we not only lost the midfield against Chelsea because we didn't have Sandro, but because they had a fucking strong midfield and team as a whole, had they been not as strong then in all likelihood we wouldn't have lost the midfield as we didn't in any of our previous five matches.
