think they did but they had very little ideas
Yep, all the raging about no effort here is wide of the mark. The essential problem is the attack.

Who in all the world at the start of this season would guess that 2 superstars from last season (Kulu, Son) would turn into carthorses for all this season...not just a few games, they have lost their mojos for the entire season.

Extreme bad luck, on top of which Kane's impeccably accurate passing is not quite there this season. So a perfect fowardline storm...oh I forgot about Richarlison, one would... no comment required.

Conte's crime was to pretend this loss of form wasn't happening and just never sub attackers or shakeup the forward line just repeating the same personnel over and over expecting form to return.

I would be absolutely staggered if Conte is here for the weekend game. The mood is just rank right now. The season is done. The players look miserable and frustrated. Us fans are miserable and frustrated. There are zero signs that this is just a phase, its been going on all season and if we're honest, apart from that run at the end of last season we've been like this since Conte got started. Stodgy, turgid, predictable, defensive, lacking in creativity, lacking in urgency, lacking in courage... take away our goals from corners and we'd be in all kinds of doo-doo.

When I returned to my seat behind the goal in the South stand I thought surely the kitchen sink would be thrown in (a Redknapp / Poch type of go for them) but the realist in me thought don’t be silly.

It was more depressing seeing our players facial expressions: resigned. I must say honestly a part from PEH who reeved the crowd up for a corner a part from that nothing absolutely no passion.

Just going through the motions of a team that know this manager is gone and you could tell many in that team tonight are done with the style of football.

Iam not even angry and that’s with being there, getting soaked in the ground and waiting for the train get soaked even more . Just here we go again.

Some of fans singing for Pochettino at the stadium tonight should be ashamed of themselves.

EDIT: Before and during the evening, after is a bit more understandable

Walked out after the Romero challenge……just shrugged my shoulders and headed off to the car….well done Tottenham, you’ve finally beaten all of the passion out of me. You won’t be getting any of my hard earned for quite a while…….

If Levy wants poch then it sort of makes sense to do it now but if he doesn't it's a little foolish to sack him

If the result and performance don''t push the fan base over the edge then Conte's post game comments certainly will.

My Twitter and WhatApp groups are giving off strong “she won’t take you back” vines tonight

For what it's worth i'm still Conte in.. But i'm now Conte out.

I'm 100% certain we would win things under Conte IF he got in the players he wanted specifically.

I'm now Conte out because I've now come to realise it just isn't going to happen with Levy in charge.

I genuinely feel bad for Conte because there's no fucking way he would have taken the job without those assurances and Levy has screwed him so much the fans are now turning on the manager and not fucking Levy. It's fucking criminal what our chairman gets away with.

I'm fuming, not with Conte but our fuckwit chairman who some way, some how, continuously gets away with this bullshit.
We basically had a manager who sent out signals tonight (even before that sub, which will go down in infamy) that he wasn't that bothered about winning the game. We, and he, just largely went through the motions.

There are many other issues at the club, he has possibly been hard done by and been dealt a bad set of cards on some things... But... There is zero defence or mitigation for that. Zero. He's lost any right to being defended tonight.

Its the usual cryptic, passive aggressive mumbo jumbo. I've heard him speak perfectly articulate English in no-pressure interviews so we know he doesn't have any difficulty expressing himself. He uses the language gimmick to deflect. Its charmless.

Didn't even feel like a CL knockout game
Our UCL final also didn't feel like one.

We specialize in sucking the life out of things (transfers in and out, finals, knock-out games, must win games, managerial appointments, etc.)
