Great win and performance against a difficult team.

Kane looking lean and motivated, rest of the team were all solid, clear patterns of play and understanding of the formation and good that the two juve boys got some minutes and both impressed in different ways.

Now for a good draw ?

I only saw the second half, but my misgivings about Royal were unfortunately reinforced. I completely understand why we're shopping for a right wing-back. On the other hand, I was very scathing of Reguilon last season, but he has been markedly better recently and we might be fine at LWB with him and Sessegnon competing for the position.

Regarding the new players, an appearance for only part of one half is obviously far to early to judge. However, my first impression is that Kulusevski looked comfortable - although he looks very one-footed, which will make him predictable if he always cuts back when playing on the right. Betancur, if this performance is typical, will be an absolute beast for us.

Do Brighton look good and look like they create lots of forward chances because they fill their team how they do and not have the players to score? Ive written that badly but what I mean is they control a lot of games and great but is that because they don’t possess the guys to put the ball away? Basically if they stick a couple of new forwards in will they lose some midfield creativity as they will lose a body? Drunk

Not sure I’d go that far. We were the better team and deserved to win for sure, but we were a bit sloppy in the 2nd half and as Brighton are a bit shit in the final third we didn’t get punished as we could have been and lost a bit of control.

However, the way Brighton play and with our ability to counter attack we always looked like we could get in against them.
Yep that chance for maupay was massive but we should have been well clear by then.

I know what you mean, it seems odd that they play good stuff with so much possession and they do create chances that you have to wonder why they don't score more goals.
The answer is, in my opinion, they don't have a three legged piglet, if they had a three legged piglet they could replace Maupay with it and they'd score more goals.
So in answer to your question I genuinely believe it's their strikers that let them down.

Wow. I can’t believe I didn’t think of the three legged piglet signing ???.

Really enjoyed the tempo of the first half, second half we dropped off for a while but result was never in doubt.

Can I ask what was the applause for around the 39th minute mark? Nobody around me in the stadium seemed to know.

Also, we have four CBs that are basically interchangeable on current form. I wouldn't mind whatever combination of Sanchez, Dier, Romero and Davies start whereas it was the stuff of heart palpitations before.

Has Sanchez really genuinely ironed out his weaknesses or has he just had a couple of good games? This site seems to pendulum heavily on the more fringe players based on their last few performances. That's not an accusation at yourself but I am genuinely interested whether people think something fundamental has changed or whether next week he'll misjudge a longball or go bambi on ice and everyone will be screaming murder.
