It seems that people have got one of our weird biases against Royal and he will be able to do nothing good in some people's eyes. Maybe we should keep him just so we don't have fans picking a new random scapegoat that there is nothing wrong with.

Stadium is bloody amazing and it really feels like the team is coming together. Excited about where we're heading again.

I don't think people care who does it. Moaning about the pundits/commentator has become second nature in here, people do it without even thinking about it, like shaking your cock when you've finished having a slash.

The pundits were waffling. I like Keane but I was just commentating that it was a bit shite, which it was. Maybe it was a bit harsh but who cares, they are getting well paid for it. It wasn’t meant to be that deep, just a brief comment.

I’ve never really criticised punditry on here before either. I just think sometimes it’s obvious when they haven’t done much homework!

haha, it's all tongue in cheek, apologies if what I said offended, it was all meant in a light hearted way and at least your reaction was friendlier and more in keeping than that other numpty :D

In regards to pundits you can take them or leave them. Stick the kettle on etc etc but it’s the match summariser that you can’t escape

Some are much better than others and in the case of Lee Dixon he’s just an absolutely useless anti Spurs gooner ****

Positive start, good quick movement, the first 15 minutes of the second half reminded me of what we used to see under Jose - a fear of committing too many forward in preference of defending the lead. Bentancur looks comfortable on the ball which is always a good indication- he will learn his positioning and patterns of play over time. Sadly I can see Kuli becoming Chadli MK II.

All good mate! No offence taken at all! And what a performance last night. Best I’ve seen us play in a really long time. We finally look like a well coached football side and against quality opposition too!

Great first half, think Brighton (well Bissouma) upped their intensity in the second half.

More than reasonable performance in the main for me, and a couple of decent cameos from our latest acquisitions.

We're in the hat.

Quality opposition, seriously?

There a well drilled, hard working side but it’s Brighton. The team is full of decent journeymen, nothing more!

They are! Seen them go to places like Chelsea and play them off the park. They are a quality side. You can be a quality side without being filled with expensive players.

Huh, surely you jest?
They're notoriously hard to beat and only Chelsea, Liverpool, City have less losses than their 4 in the league while playing fantastic attacking football. If they had even slightly better attackers they'd easily be pushing for 4th IMO

Maybe, but these "journeymen" have drawn twice with Chelsea, drew with Liverpool, Leicester, Arsenal and West Ham this season in the league.

On that basis, I felt we played well and overcame a potential banana skin.

I agree, they are tricky but they can’t score for shit and the ‘big’ teams effort drops off v the likes of the Brightons of this World, and the atmosphere is pretty flat too

Can you imagine Chelsea playing Brighton like they do Tottenham and the difference in the mentality of the crowd too!

Imagine Brighton having to play Palace about 15/20 times a season. That’s probably the difference in intensity of the opposition & fans that teams like Brighton don’t come up against week in, week out…

It was a very good performance, keep that up and we get top 4.
Winning a trophy always needs a bit of luck, at our level anyway, but if we get that luck have a great chance of the FA Cup too
Can we keep that level up, who knows. So much depends on Kane Son and Lloris, if they can stay fit and firing, and saving ?
We don't need playmakers or amazing creativity, just solid performers, basic skills and our forwards will do the rest.

A little word on the new players, I thought Kulesevski looked a bit unsure for the first five minutes but soon got warmed up and once he started getting on the ball he looked comfortable and a proper player.
Bentancur on first viewing looks a bit of a thoroughbred from the first minute, read the game well made some good accurate passes under pressure and looks so smooth on the ball, he seemed to cruise effortlessly around the pitch.
Early impressions I know but if I turn out to be right we've done well bringing them in.

I missed the game, so glad to hear they both were impressive.

Good win and a shame Bergwijn didn't finish his clear chance to put a shine on things. By the sounds of it, Romero and Bentancur could make a difference for our consistency and push for top 4.

I'm interested in what people thought of Royal's performance. I have doubts about him, but would like him to play 8 or 10 games in a row to see if he can push on in that position. Those wing back positions are key and we need end product from both sides.
Royal's posisting and understanding of that WB role has been improving every game. Zero complaints last night
