What a performance. I was so apprehensive going into this game but thought we were great. Like others have mentioned, our defence for the most part has looked much better which is really encouraging. Also the emergence of Skipp makes losing Bissouma easier, minus the capability to rotate more. Based off what we saw when he did feature I think it's fair to argue that Skipp is the better option.

Really bodes well for our chances of a top 4 finish.

Defensively, as a whole team, we looked so sound. As we did against City and West Ham recently too. The first halves are never exhilarating but it seems we know that if we go in at 0-0 then we can go on to win the game, and we play with more intent in the second half.

Really good shape, pressing and energy today. Great win against a truly fucking horrible club. Brilliant day

He gave the ball away a few times early on but the goal made him feel 10 ft tall and he was wrapping passes into the front players feet and slamming in crucial tackles after that.

Happy for Skippy.

Playing regular games helps most players to find a better rhythm.
He breaks up so much play. And when he does give the ball away its normally because he's trying to get us forward and up the pitch playing a forward pass not playing easy, safe sideways backwards passes.
Filled my chest with pride to see Kane and Skipp being interviewed at the end. Skipp will be buzzing tonight.

That performance was superb!
In typical Spurs fashion, things aren’t straight forward! It was great seeing us snap into tackles, play triangles to get out of trouble and be confident in the ball.
I think Conte not being there at the moment is probably a good thing. However, let’s not underestimate what he has been through and is currently going through. It would likely sink most of us.

I ultimately think he’ll leave in the summer, but this team is does have guts and character…..and a lot of that has to do with Conte!

I’m fucked
There wouldn't be a 2nd ball to play if Chilwell did what he was supposed to do and pushed up. I don't understand how you can watch that sequence and think the issue was Sterling doing what they obviously has been drilled to do and not Chilwell chilling several feet deeper. You might say zonal is a bad way to defend, ok, but that is borderline irrelevant.
Chilwell’s zone is covering the back post and meant to be deeper. As soon as it goes to the front post the responsibility changes.

I know what you mean but I do think a part of this is because people are less likely to flock an internet forum after a massive derby win as they're like... celebrating and enjoying life.
there is an element of that but it's also a reflection of what we see at the ground with the knee jerk reactions and opinions and almost inevitable boos and criticism of the team and players .

If you go by the last 5 matches, one of the most common metrics, we are now the form team in the league.
and in that time we've played City and 2 of our biggest rivals WH & Chelsea.

Haven't conceded either.

The one game we were a mess was the game Romero missed and Conte messed the right side of defence up

Negative news sells mate that’s always been the way of the world nothing new.

Was a good win but the style of play hardly gets you off your seat so another reason for why not tons of pages.

But credit to the lads, good solid performance and win.
also, probably 10 pages less not criticising Davies, PEH, Royal and Dier

Just watching the highlights and realised the ref had his card out to book Ziyech for the original foul on Richy. So at the very least he should have got 2 yellows

Lol, I bet most of us will take any win before the match started, much less a convincing 2-0 we have had. Never enough for some. Never enough. And this is Chelsea we are talking about ffs. The last win we had over them in the league was almost 5 years back, 24 Nov 2018, a 3-1 win. It's embarrassing enough that the social media team of the club could only edit our so-called best goals against them from that match in recent history.

Really pleased with Skipp. He really stepped up. Our midfield is very strong now: 5 players either at the mark or young players looking likely to be. Can't complain. The icing on the cake would be an AM too.

We're a new keeper and a CB away from a decent, well-balanced squad, imo. With Udogie coming in, perhaps we could upgrade Sess as understudy for next season too.

Just got home. Pleased with the result but wtf was the ref doing? Nipped off for a shit at one point, decided to book someone, then didn't, gave Chelsea the dropped ball when it was ours when play was stopped and on and on.

Anyway, pleased with the result and surprised by how toothless Chelsea looked. Absolutely made up for Skippy also, great to see him back in the side.

Thats been mentioned before. I rate the guy I really do. If he's on the pitch you know about it. He doesnt hide and is involved in everything.
People forget he was absolute mustard before his injury.

At my age some of the recent memory isn't up to much - Hence I don't recall anyone else saying it before (I probably did myself LOL)

Mate, we beat Chelsea 2-0 and never really looked threatened.
The stadium was bouncing by all accounts too, so if that doesn't get you off your seat and buzzing, I don't know what will?

It was a great result and a great team performance, spattered with some outstanding individual displays.
I don't understand what people expect/want nowadays.
5.0 ?‍♀️
