We miss an Eriksen type in these types of games.

Shame Kulu isn’t at least on bench as he is the closest we have to creating something out of nothing.

Id like to see more from Doherty and Perisic in games like this, ideally Sess & Spence would probably be better as can stretch Everton backwards a bit more by running at them, Doherty and Perisic don’t have the pure pace and are more pass and move type wing-backs.

Given our only attacking options off the bench are Gil and Lucas I think switching to 3-5-2 and putting Bissouma on for Richarlison is probably the best move to push PEH & Bentancur further up so they can create and to put Kane and Son against their CB’s to give them more to do which then Drew’s up our wingbacks a bit more.

Let’s see how it goes.
It’s the type of game if we want to be a title contender team then we need to grind out a 1-0 here.

Maybe Richarlison can nick a winner late on, that would be pretty sweet.

Bloody glad D.Gray and Onana don’t have their shooting boots ? on.
To be honest we struggled even with Eriksen in games like this at times.

richarlison was bought primarily as kane back-up, rw is his weakest position along the front three so it's not much of a shock to see him struggling. maybe switch him with son, or bring gil/lucas on after 60-65.
I agree, but I believe Conte does see him as a RW.

He did drop Kulu for him after all.

Yep he doesn’t seem as comfortable or effective there compared to LWF/ST, like he’s ok but Kulu is levels above at RWF as suits him cutting in on his left.

Not Richys fault as he’s doing his best but certainly this is where that extra AM we were trying for like Zaniolo would make a big difference.

I’d like to see Gil at some point.

Wonder if conte would bring on Gil ahead of Moura.

We're going to have to find something here.

Is a withdrawn Doherty better than a marauding Royal fucking up in the final 1/3?

Seems like we have neglected work on the set-piece front in recent weeks (understandable)

Not a terrible half but we've made some bad errors to gift them 2 great chances. Romero has stood out for me. I think he's having a good game. The tempo in possession has just been too slow and when we've moved the ball quicker we've looked more dangerous. Richarlison has been poor so far and him for Moura or Gil looks like an obvious substitution.
@Rob, Why "watch it"? Have I missed something?

We need to be very careful.

I think its easy to say go full pelt and apply intense pressure on the opponent but when you do that you make yourselves more open to being caught out.

Which is why you need to time it. You need spells where you turn up the heat and other spells where you just settle down, especially when the opposition are really compact.

Its why an early goal usually makes these affairs far more comfortable.

Agreed. Let's just hope we time it before 90min.

why watch a game if your whole analysis is based on the stats? just open the box score and draw your conclusions.
What are you on about? That wasn't my 'whole analysis' at all. In fact, I didn't even give my 'whole analysis.' I shared a simple fact. Not sure why you're so triggered by that. But you do you, bud.
