I enjoyed that game so much.

The only negative is that I kept thinking why on earth weren’t Bissouma and Sarr playing last season.

What a narrow minded, constipated, risk averse , narcissist Conte was.

Sarr maybe wasn’t ready but Bissouma, shameful!

I think the only reason is because conte didn't pick them.

What a self sabotaging ####

I think the foul on romero was much more of a penalty than his hand getting hit from a 2 yard piledriver while he's sliding. From one of the angles shown romero even has his foot kicked, it's not just being outmuscled shoulder to shoulder.

Edit - I don't think romero handball was a penalty but I'm surprised ref didn't give it because it was against united
The handball rule is out of control for me, the only way to defend in the box now is to leave your arms in the changing room.

Yeah I agree with all of that. I was sure Oliver was going to give the pen on review because, like you say it's United, and also because it was Michael Oliver.

You could tell straight away he was never going to give the Romero penalty we should have had though. It is more of a penalty that the one Son gave away last weekend. Personally though, I think a lot of pens are given nowadays for not much and the refs have got into quite a mess regarding them. I've no idea what is and what isnt a handball in the box nowadays and I'm not certain the refs know either. There are always different views from each ref.

He has no filter in these situations.

Ex players shouldn't be allowed to commentate on games involving former teams.

I have no idea why it's allowed. Even if the commentator is relatively unbiased you're opening yourself up to huge criticism.

Refs can’t be consistent any more. If the dubious Son penalty conceded against Brentford was a penalty then the one against Romero was absolutely a penalty. It’s spoiling the game.

Reading all these reports about Utd dominating first half makes me feel like I was at a different match. I don’t remember being concerned about conceding at all and thought we were all over them. They exploited some gaps left by Porro a few times but that felt like their only threat.

I’d argue we were comfortable the whole game, even if we stayed in 2nd gear.

Thought they dominated the first 20 minutes when we looked nervous and weren’t coping with their pressing. After that the first half became quite even and everyone seems to agree we bossed the second half. But this sort of thing happens all the time where Utd and Liverpool are involved - their managers and ex-players in the media control the narrative and on this occasion that narrative is to overstate how dominant they were early and for how long.

I no longer what and what doesn't constitute handball. The UEFA/PL/FA have made a complete mess of the situation.

Something I noticed yesterday was how much our midfielders were actively making themselves available to receive the ball. I think the reason for this is mainly two fold imo. Firstly, all 3 of them (and Bentancur for that matter) are comfortable in possession, can pick out a pass and have that ability to drive forward with the ball and escape the oppo.

Secondly and crucially I think Postecoglou has given them the licence to go out there and play with some freedom. Makes a huge difference as a player when you feel your manager trusts you to take responsibility. Under Conte, get the feeling they were bogged down in holding positions and almost scared to break out of that and play their natural games.

I'd say United were marginally better in the first half (all those free headers and Rashford breaking through forcing a good save from Vicario shouldn't be ignored).

But I'd also say it was obvious we were always going to get better and better throughout the game. It was more or less the first time we encountered somewhat of a pressing team, so naturally it would take some time to adapt, but we never looked stressed or worried in the process of doing so.

So, I'd argue that United had a better first half than us, but, as you said, it still felt comfortable. Which was a wonderfully weird feeling I haven't felt in years.

Just like that feeling from being in the front row at a rock concert, my ears are still ringing from yesterday’s atmosphere.

Got in the door at 2am this morning and currently on my break at work. Madness but totally worth it.

So pleased with the way the manager, players and fans conducted themselves yesterday: everything was in sync, a feeling that for me, I haven’t seen since the unbeaten last season at the Lane (2016/17). Just thinking of that season is giving me goosebumps.

.xG is quite easy to understand if you have the patience to understand it. It's just common sense but gets readily dismissed by the average fan.

The two chances that hit the woodwork for Spurs were a shot from the edge of the box and a massive deflection from a cross from near the by-line. The percentage chance of those hitting the back of the net compared with two free headers from the six yard line for Man U will be relatively low.
Wasting your time mate I have no interest in someone's opinion of how likey it is someone will score from a particular chance. And yes it is someone's opinion.

Some of the commentary around yesterdays game has been staggering and leaves a really bad taste in the mouth.

Roy Keane calling us arrogant because we are playing attacking football. Then he says we are "there for the taking" at the start of the second half. Then says "United are the new Spurs" when we destroy them. Neville on commentary spouting for 90 minutes about United's short comings and not giving us an ounce of credit. Plus the sh1te about Vicario's saves. Then Ten Haag being interviewed after the game saying they "should win" at WHL.

They showed us a complete lack of respect and they found out. Could not deal with us when we turned it on and turned into a snivelling bunch of cowards. Shit club trading on past glories.

I think it noticeable that our first goal was a result of Kulusevski hitting a first time cross rather than cutting back onto his left foot. It makes such a difference.

Let’s hope it continues. I’d like to us be underestimated all season - keeps the pressure off a young team while we build again.
