Like this but feel like Doherty's first minutes of the season will come from the bench.
Going to be interesting to see what happens there as IIRC Royal has played every PL minute so far barring the attacking change at Chelsea for Lucas?? Something feels amiss with Doherty - I agree that I can't see him being thrown into a CL game. Surely it makes sense for someone other than Emerson to play though, considering he's going to be our best option at City.

He came on late together with Lenglet in the Southampton game (who played yesterday) so don't see a particular issue to start with Doherty as long as he is fit.

Don't see how it's so controversial. Richarlison is hardly a massive downgrade.
I wasn't expecting you to repl, it was just a little bit of whimsey, I'd have thought it was obvious.
Son always scores against City they're tailor made for him not to mention the boost it would give them not having to face their bogeyman. They'd love it.

I think Richarlison deserves the start here, and I would recall Kulusevski too. Son drops (not dropped) to the bench with the intention of him starting fresh alongside Kane and Kulu for City.

This works for me on two fronts. 1) OM will have endless reels of footage of Kane/Son to get stuck into, but very little with Richarlison - harder for them to understand how our forward line will work and Richarlison's workrate and enthusiasm will keep the atmosphere positive. 2) Son/Kane/Kulu is one of the very few line-ups in the PL that will make City adjust their own strategy. Hardly anyone else can affect City's shape, and they have ample memories of how easily we can hurt them.

There seemed to be quite a lot of publicity on Richie's desire for CL football before he moved to us so I expect him to start over Son/Kulu, take your pick. Perisic with his experience is also a starter, centre midfield is hard to call will Antonio stick with PEH/Rod or give Biss or Skippy a start.
Royal is due a day off but Doherty is a mystery, on the bench for every game but so far just 4 minutes played.
Bonus for stay at homes and early arrivers at the stadium, Franfurt V Sporting BT sport 17.45 ko , we can keep tabs on opposition.

Have you blanked the Bayern match at NWHL from memory then.
It's pretty close to a sell out for General Admission maybe a couple of thousand seats left, don't know about premium ticket sales, should be well over 50,000 on Wednesday that's enough to make a noise.
Yes I had forgotten that one. Although the team was a shambles at that point. Still have the image of sissoko missing a sitter at 2-3 ? don’t know why I had much faith in him. Still would have lost.

Conte has said with two games a week there will be rotation so let's see what he comes up with. It's a shame Skippy is probably still not fully match fit as he could probably give PEH a rest.
Would like a front three of Kulusevski ,Kane , Richarlison to start, Kulu will be fresh after just getting the few minutes against Fulham and Richie seems to have surplus energy to burn after keeping the bench warm for a lot of games so far.
Still some GA tickets available but should be nearly full, had a look at premium tickets for this game just out of curiosity, block 2 west stand lower, a whole row of seats available at £599 each. Wow what would the cost be v Real Madrid or similar.

It's always been my understanding that 'match fit' denotes a player who has got a few games under his belt and is fully up to speed. As such, Skipp (or anyone else) won't be 'match fit' until they have been given a few games to get in the groove.

Mad to think we won’t sell out for return to europe for a CL match , assuming it’s the cost

I think this might actually be a really tough game - I recognise it's a less strong league, but their form is excellent

Cost of living, football can't assume it's immune to fans saving money on some games.
For this match the existing 42,000 season holders have to put their hands in their pockets and pay up after paying out record prices for PL games , seems quite a few have declined but there are enough members and those registered on the ticket database to make up the shortfall.

I'd go for this:

Lloris
Sanchez Romero Lenglet
Doherty ----------------- Perisic
Bentancur -- Bissouma
Kulu ----------- Son
Kane
Then this v City:

Lloris
Romero Dier Davies
Emerson --------------- Sessegnon
Bentancur -- PEH
Kulu ----------- Richarlison
Kane

You’ve got to play Son against City. He’s their kryptonite, and is in the heads of many of their players and fans.

Are they on the ticket database yet?

See Marseille managed to rest most of their strongest 11 over the weekend and still got a 2-0 win to remain joint top of the French league.

A lot of familiar faces will be coming to the lane on Wednesday:
  • Payet - ex WHam
  • Sanchez - ex Arsenal
  • Guendouzi - ex Arsenal
  • Tavares - Arsenal (on loan)
  • Kolasinac - ex Arsenal
Can’t wait to see Romeros eyes light up when he sees Guendouzi’s hair :woot:
It says here https://www.uefa.com/uefachampionsleague/clubs/52748--marseille/squad/ that Alexis Sanchez is suspended for this one. That's a touch because he's scored three or four goals already this season.

The game has gone to guest sale but not general sale , I believe in a guest sale a ST/member can buy tickets for non-members who are registered with a CRN. The club hold the ST/member responsible for whoever they assign the tickets so you wouldn't want to assign them to somebody you don't know. Plus would think club are wary of going to general sale in case Marseille fans get hold of seats where they shouldn't be..

Would like to see Doherty at RWB for this one. I think we're going to need a fresh Emerson and his good defensive work against City. I'd also like to see Bissouma for PEH and Sess starting again so we can start with Perisic on Saturday. Wouldn't mind seeing Lenglet again to give him another game to ease in. He looked great against Fulham but I'm not sure I'd trust him just yet for the City game.

Late notice of the game too, for a midweek match. Plus it is the week most kids have gone back to school and that doesn't help I suspect.
