I just picked up on something the commentator mentioned, apparently West Ham played on Thursday!
Not really fair as nobody else has ever had to play Thursday then Sunday before.
Thought they'd have made a bit more of that as its never jappened before. Only mentioned it every 15 secs and non stop post match.

Yeah it was ridiculous, they were really playing the sympathy card.

PEH was good, the criticism aimed at him is he passes backwards but if you look - a lto of our players pass backwards. Bentancur who is being lauded also passed backwards a fair bit. I think its just part of how we play - if there isnt a forward pass then recycle the ball than take huge risks... which is quite right
big difference is they move into space to receive the ball back immediately. Unlike WINKY. Romero and doherty do that was well. While dier comes on and gives an option or passing angle if needed.
Key to this all is the fact that the other players step back to cover the advancing player. Hobby and benty do that and all that is done on the training pitch :) It's a great sign. Now if only we could defend a fecking corner or set piece

We’re starting to see the Conte template is becoming ingrained in the team. Subsequently we look more solid at the back and are creating many more opportunities up top although we are not as clinical as we should be.

Unfortunately Conte has not managed to erase some of our worst habits. As is far too common with us we dominate the opening half an hour scoring a couple of goals and then take our foot off the pedal, lose our focus, let WHU back in the game and concede a sloppy goal. Suddenly for the next half hour we’re on our back foot in game we should have already put out of sight.
We did finally gain control of the game for the last 30 minutes although a lot of that was due to WH running out of gas.
Even so I don’t think I was the only one who let out a HUGE sigh of relief when Son put in the 3rd as it had all the makings of WH getting a late against the run of play equalizer.
Conte has still got a lot of work to do still to instill a tougher and more focused mentality. Top teams don’t act like the game is won until the final whistle. They don’t allow themselves to become complacent and let the other team back in the game.
Still the positives are that Conte has a settled first 11 who are beginning to implement his ideas and given the number of chances we are creating we can give anyone a game. Now having broken our WLWL sequence we need to go on a long unbeaten run. When Chelsea won the title under Conte they went on a run of 13 victories once he settled on his best system and lineup. Something like that would propel us into the CL places.

Anyone that watched Conte’s inter side play out from the back will not be surprised at how we are starting to see a real improvement in our play in this regard now. His Inter side were fantastic at playing out from the back.

Nice to see us perform well in a difficult fixture. I thouht WHU looked a little jaded although still present themselves as a decent side. As we grew in confidence they faded. Pleased for Son, he needed that. Front 3 looking good. Defensively still needs work. MF very good. The pressure is on fav for 4th Arsenal.

Thought we made a half decent West Ham side look pretty much mediocre.

Our third was a thing of beauty, beautifully simplistic.

We need West Ham out of the Europa ASAP. If they win it and an English club wins CL (highly likely)
Then 4th place goes into Europa. Only 5 clubs can go in the CL.
Tanguy needs to pull his finger out. Probably Barca await in semis if they do get past Lyon.
Besides that permutation I want them out asap so they have a full 7 days or so rest when they face Arsenal soon. We need them to take points there.

Why the fuck are people now trying to attach themselves to the goal?!
What is that all about?

There was actually 5 attempts at the game.. Two down at the kop end and then 3 down at the other end... One was completely shoulder barged on his arse too great amusement, and then a girl and other bloke just have them selves up..

Not sure what these were protesting about as they didnt have any t-shirts or slogans

Great team performance. We went at them straight from the start and they had no answer. If Son had been paying attention when the scored they wouldn't have scored. They desperately need a quality striker.

Interesting I thought how quiet Rice was. Overwhelmed by Hojbjerg and Bentancur ?

I have no issue with players passing the ball back when needed, and thought Hojbjerg had a good game, and a bit more disciplined. He held the CM with Bentancur.

But Bentancur seems a lot more aware of what's going on around him before he gets the ball. He often receives the ball on the turn and gets us moving forward.

I would love to see Hojbjerg do this more, as there have been a few times when he has received the ball with space in behind him to only pass the ball back to the defender. I think this is why (or at least me) people get frustrated with his backwards passing more than others as it kills off an option to drive forward.

When he is facing forward with the ball we know he can put in a few good balls, like the one to Kane. He just needs to go from back to goal receiving it, to turning to get the ball forward.

If the ref didn't see that then he's not watch paying attention which begs the question are they good enough or bias . So many incidents go unpunished or ignored?
Even if the ref didn’t see it, why didn’t VAR as it’s surely a potential red card?

Good result against a side that always ups it's game against us no matter what.
Puts us ahead of them and with a game in hand so could go six points in front which would be nice.
Still think top six is the priority but will see how arsenal get on.

They were protesting about Oil and global warming. Similar to the lot who were blocking motorways last summer. There is a coordinated group who plan lots of disruption over the next few weeks apparently. I think stewards and police at all high profile events will be on high alert after the Everton disruption.

Tough to tell with only one angle like that, although that looks bad.

I’d bet considering the fact Dier didn’t go down and no var action was taken, that it’s not as bad as that camera angle suggests.

Well done to the stewards who caught the twats who ran onto the pitch before they could do anything. It’s a huge security risk, they could have anything on them.
You still get searched coming into the stadium. Just a thin tie wrap can be slid down the leg and missed.
