as I don't see French football, to be honest .. some signings worked well for Wenger, but I'm not impressed by African strikers including Drogba & Adebayor . I think we need someone like Messi or even Robinho, I want south American wonderkid who would make huge difference for us. I don't like Phisycal sides. Given me winger like Messi or Robinho for Pavyluchenko, that's far better than using Nasri or Bentley or Lennon behind Adebayor.

Our problem in the past is signing good player to replace decent option, when we want to replace that decent option by good player, we do but the last good signing become decent option. That's apart from our top two big sells Carrick & Berbatov, as both sold at their best.

To be honest, you're not missing much. I watched a fair bit last season but have scarcely bothered this—it's mostly mind-crushingly dull and defensive.

The fact is, there really aren't that many quality strikers around, and you've always got a question mark in the back of your mind as to whether one who does well in France or Germany or Holland will do as well here. Pizarro was pretty hopeless for Chelsea, but he's been banging them in for Werder this season. Then you get one-season wonders like McCarthy (and Santa Cruz seems to have lost his shooting boots this season).

Santa Cruz is pure quality, it's just that his whole squad are pretty hopeless at the moment. I can't believe Ince left Carlos Villanueva in the bench for the last part of his spell there and insisted to play one of the most anonymous and poorly determined players I've seen in my entire life, Morten "I don't have passion for the game and I'm not that talented" Gamst-Pedersen. Ince killed that team and Santa Cruz in particular, who came back from an injury at the worst possible time really.

Back to Roque, I would take him any day, he could play with Bent or Pav without a problem, strong, intelligent, has the scoring instinct, very humble, would become a legend playing for us.

Yes, bit of a mystery why Villanueva has hardly been used—from what little I've seen of him he's looked quality. I don't think Santa Cruz's apparent loss of form is entirely unconnected with Bentley joining us, either.

We should put in a cheeky bid for Daniel Sturridge of Man City. If this list is to be believed, he's out of contract in the summer.

This could make sense, a good young player for a cut price. Sturridge looks a good deal.

Also, I haven't watched Cavenaghi in ligue 1, but I watched him play for River Plate quite a bit years ago. He wasn't impressive. Long John Silver could've scored 30 a season for that team. If he were a british player, then he'd be on a championship league team with no offers from the continent. He's finally bagged a couple goals after 3 years of struggling - don't believe the hype. He's probably scored against the weak teams and done nothing against the top teams. Has He scored in the champions league? This all sounds harsh, but paying top dollar for the flavor of the month doesn't seem a great idea - 1.5 seasons of getting on the scoresheet may be misleading, he's a bit lightweight IMO. If you really need to buy him, then no more than 7 mil... meh

However, I have seen Santa Cruz play a lot for both Munich and Blackburn. I'd take him straight away, good strong player with success at the top levels. What is he worth, 12-16 mil? Do it.

I just saw a pic of that Gervinho chap - 21?? He looks about 40 already

Besides, i'm trawling a list of players in the prem who are in the last year of the contracts and Pompey look f*cked unless they start pushing around contracts soonish.

Yeh I saw that too. A lot of the players whose contracts are running out are getting on a bit though. They would still have some pretty good players there and maybe with the Diarra money they can find some cheap deals to fill out the squad. Sure they won't be too bad. The likes of James, Johnson, Distin, Kranjcar, Crouch and Defoe should mean they have enough quality to stay up without too many problems.

Maybe Santa Cruz should come and join his mate at Spurs then! :-D

Oh and who's Villanueva? Is he a left-midfielder as suggested above he should be playing over Pedersen?

I actually think Rednapp would listen to Spurs King.

I think we would agree on many transfer targets, as he has signed many players that I have admired during the years at West Ham, Portsmouth. I am not sure if he was involved in the signing of Jones(previously at Southampton), who are now playing for Sunderland. I think he is an excellent striker!

We need another striker, and Jones would be a great signing, I think.

You should be Harry's DOF or Chief scout, then you could share all your ITK with your beloved Spurscommunity friends

There is a good chance he was involved in Jones' transfer, he certainly played under Redknapp at So'ton

So who was that Ajax youngster you identified as 'One to watch +' a while back, SK? Mitchell Donald, was it? The one who made three sub appearances totalling about 40 minutes last season? Remarkable. And just how does one get to watch Ligue 2 in Norway?

For what it is worth two forward players here in the A League who are good forward prospects are Nikita Rukavytsya of Perth and Matt Simon of Central coast. Both are on the edge of the Australian side which is about to qualify for the World Cup. The former is big fast and not a bad finisher. Simon is a tall hold the ball up type of player with that bit of agro edge of an old centre forward.

Crazy name, crazy guy!

I thought Germinal Beerschot's Cameroon midfielder was called Justice Warrior and decided he was a must-buy just because of his name—then I put my specs on and realised he was actually Justice Warmfor, which is a whole lot less interesting.

Justice Warmfart?

Ayee Aye Elvis is probably my favourite. He's listed on the Moo scouting network.

Santa Cruz would be a great buy. Is he defo off to Citeh?
Wheter or not he is off to City their reported interest, the fact that he recently signed a new contract and the arrival of Big Sam will all = a very expensive transfer fee for Santa Cruz.

I expect him to go for a similar fee (if not more) then what we paid for Bent (wasn't they reported a £18m price tag?)

Would be a great player to have in our squad, however money is a factor and he is likely to be very expensive.

You remember I talked about Emana when he played for Toulouse. He is now up for grabs again, as Betis got relegated. Emana was their top goal scorer with 11 goals. He is a midfielder. Emana would be a great signing for us. Let's sign Oliveira aswell, please.

Odonkor is also one we could consider, if he is available for a good price. We have to do some bargain shopping this summer, as we have paid so much overprice for players again last season. There are so many bargains available in the different leagues.
