I was never overly fussed about someone who has only ever played youth football anyway. He may turn out to be amazing but I'd expect him to be breaking into the Ajax first team if he was ready

Seems to play in a similar position as our more talented academy players. Don't want to clog up the squad so not the worst thing to lose out on. Probably better for him to go to Sevilla

Tbf he plays for the B team who compete in Eerste Divisie which is only one devision down. Ajax also have a separate youth team. It is confusing tho as the B team is called Yong Ajax. Also general consensus is that he would have been moved up to Ajax if he had agreed to extend his contract. He’s considered better than some of the youth prospects in the first team.

But in general i agree, not overly fussed about it as we have Donley plus Maddison, Kulu and Gio who can all play in his favourite position.

100% this. I’m sure he will be part of the first team straight away and will probably have a low release clause meaning a move to a bigger team should he impress would be straightforward. I can 100% understand why he’d choose them over us when looking at our squad and theirs.

I had a feeling he’d go there. I reckon they will be more willing to put him straight in and also set his price at affordable amount.
