I guess that's how luck works sometimes. We've ridden it at times this season, and it was always going to go against us at some point.

Very encouraged by the second half performance - well done to Redknapp for making a bold tactical change at half time; it addressed our weakness and enhanced our strength - my only real thought is, you win some you lose some.

Onwards and upwards!

I agree to an extent sloth, in the case of the Fulham game that kind of thing will no doubt even itself out. But today that was nothing short of an absolute **** of a performance by the worst referee in the league. He literally cant keep up with play and he looks nervous everytime he makes a decision. I don't think it's the sort of luck that evens itself out, do you?

Did you back Stoke today?

What? Even Glen Whelan didn't argue with it.

I thought Modric was brilliant second half, I think to truly be thought of as one of the best midfielders in the world he needs to be able to take games we're losing by the scruff of the neck and turn them around, and he would have done so if it wasn't for Sir Christopher of Foy, as he completely dominated the game after half time.

As for my ratings:

Friedel 6 - Couple of good saves, think he has been unfairly critcised for the goals which were poor marking and not winning the aerial battle.

Walker 6 - Some good, some bad. Got better.
Gallas 5 - Thought he looked shaky throughout, culpable for first goal IMO not even jumping with his man.
Kaboul 6 - Better than Gallas. Harsh red, would have applauded if he had flattened Mr Foy.
BAE 5 - Not a good half, couldnt argue about being subbed.

Lennon 5 - Didnt do a lot with the ball, unlucky to be subbed though I thought as he was doing more than Bale at that stage.
Parker 5.5 - worst game for us but forced a few openings towards the end.
Modric 7 - One the penalty, grew into the game
Bale 5.5 - Didnt look fit, was lethargic I thought, threatened later on but woeful first half.

VdV 4 - Worst game for us, a blip Im sure.
Adebayor 6 - Not at his best but tucked away the Pen.

Bassong 6 - Improved the defence! better than BAE and Gallas anyway.
Defoe 5 - Quiet, a blocked shot and good tracking back to prevent a 3rd goal for them is all I can recall.

I was genuinely hoping he'd just lamp him...probably glad he didn't with highsight as god knows what sort of ban he'd have got!

Thought it was a dive myself... sorry.

He made the most of it, but the stoke player swung out a leg made no contact with the ball and Modric made the most of it.

A soft penalty but there ya go.

I though we played very well except for the two goals we conceded, we were by far the better team throughout.

They did nothing after scoring their first and then score another from a long throw but in between that we were the better team, just had no cutting edge in the final third.

Bassong played well when he came on, fucking BAE is a fucking waste of space sometimes, just watch him(his reaction or lack of it) on their first goal when he goes to close down the cross and it spins up off his leg.

Just fucking stands and watches play unfold infront of him, awful.

We were totally robbed of three points and over the 90minutes i felt we deserved them.

Must have been just me, but i didn't think Gallas was that bad. For the first goal he is clearly being fouled, the stoke player is all over him. Having said that, after that he isn't strong enough against Crouchy.

I don't think it evens itself out in the pure, we get a bad decision here, so we're owed a good decision there, sense of the word, but over the course of the season we'll lose some games we deserve to win and win some we haven't really earned the right to. Makes it easier that I feel we've got a bit of luck in the bank, so to speak, but that's just how it goes sometimes.

More important to me is we made a positive response second half, Redknapp showed his worth and it just wasn't our day.

Layed us for a fiver, but was a bit greedy on the other fiver (been laying us for a tenner each game) and so didn't get it matched. That puts me a fiver better off than I was before the game, but much prefer to be a tenner down
