Never particularly liked O'Neill and hopefully this brings his inflated managerial ability to a more reasonable level akin with Allardyce, Curbishley etc.
Nevertheless, a strange and unexpected move as getting points off United was always a tough prospect - plus O'Neill is a walker so if all was not hunky dory before the international break then that was surely the time to take action.

I think the man appearing in your signature could do a good job. He has passion for football, and a little heads up with him, he could be the right man for the jobReally don't like O'Neill but can't think of any available manager who would have been better for the task in hand
That's a bit of a shock decision! Saying that they do look to be in big trouble, especially with Fletcher out for the rest of the season.
Not sure who they can bring in though - Di Matteo or Steve McClaren maybe?
He did a good job there simply because he had some good players there. He did not bring in the good players like Tiote at the time.TBF to McLaren he did a good job at Twente and their fans were going crazy that he had been sacked as they thought he was doing amazing considering the arsehole was trying to sell players without spending one penny tbh
