I'm leaning more towards Kane as the centre forward and Eriksen in behind as the solution to our team selection. I always feel we're better when we have 2 forwards though so a wide forward is a must in January. It's great to see Eriksen scoring some goals this season but I'd like to see them come a bit earlier in games so we don't have to suffer so much.

We really struggled to contain Routledge and Montero on the wings today. If you're going to play narrow then you really need to control the centre of the field. We didn't do that today and it nearly cost us. In fact Swansea played just how we should set up by controlling possession centrally and stretching teams on the wings.

I don't have an agenda against Eriksen, I just find it hilarious that 99% of Spurs fans think this guy is gods gift to football. His set pieces are generally poor, if you throw enough shit, eventually some will stick. He needs to work on beating the first man.

His defensive workrate is worse than Lamela's and offensively today before the 85th min he offered basically nothing. Yet everyone thinks he's fucking amazing? I get that he's a good player, bags of ability and potential etc etc but I just find it amusing and strange how brown everyones nose is. I also get that you are crying out for a stand-out player and that he has the potential to be this, but Kane offered far more today than Eriksen.
The fact is Ericsson provided an assist and a winning goal. Thats good enough for me.

If we are playing this badly, and still taking 3 pts, then we must use this Jan window wisely, and for once not fuck it up. We are not gonna spend silly amounts, but if we make well thought and considered signings that suit Poch's playing philosophy, then we can give ourselves a good platform for the second half of the season.

We def need to consider who we put in the central midfield positions, as both Mason and Bentaleb left our back four far too exposed at times. There are very few positives, as seems the norm with us at the moment, but they are there!!

...we won this game despite Lamela - so wasteful in possession, does not track back effectively, can't challenge without fouling, can't even clear the ball to relieve pressure...should be benched indefinitely, along with his buddy Soldoodoo...

Got anything to back that up?
Or is that your eyes deceiving you again.

Still feel Mason is flavour of the month and now I feel teams are exploiting his lack of tactical discipline.

Rather use him in the squad rotation and bring in Dembele/Stambouli

I don't think him and Bentaleb complement each other well. I'd rather have one or the other with another midfielder.

Lets see what happens in the window. Soladado and Lamela could generate cash which could be used to buy a pacey centre forward to play with Kane or Eriksen. Liked the look of their left back.

I think Kane has to be played as the lone forward with Erkisen in behind now - Soldado doesn't deserve a place in the team and Erkisen is wasted on the left

Correct me if I'm wrong, everyone is saying that Eriksen was in the middle. I know he scores the goal from this position but I thought with the subs we were more shaped with a 433

Eriksen - Kane - Chadli
Dembele - Stamb - Bentaleb

Just seemed to me that Eriksen had drifted off the wings?

Like I said correct me if I'm wrong as I was bathing kids at the time so not paying full attention.

Again people are singling out Soldado and Lamela, when in fact the whole team was in shambles. Flair players, more than any other players, are depending on a well-functional team that can help them set up chances, give them the ball as well as receive it in "dangerous" positions etc. Soldado is a box player but how often was he set up for chances in the box? Not even once. Lamele was isolated on the left and rarely had any Spurs players make any clever moves or passes off him/to him.
Swansea could easily have won by 2-3 goals today. But that's football, Spurs took their chances.

No thanks to Pochettino. One of the worst performances of the season, saved by a couple of moments of individual skill. I'm going to moan because not only was it awful, it was exactly what I was expecting from this manager (sorry...head coach).

He's walking on ice and the cracks are there for all to see. Not a single sign of improvement. If anything we looked even more pathetic than usual.

Yet we still keep picking up points.
