Today's match showed me a few things:

1. We need two wingers. Lamela was played because we lack creativity. Eriksen was played left because we lack a left winger. Townsend and Lennon are sub material at best. Chadli was tired.

2. We have not replaced Sandro. Mason and Bentalab ain't it. Eriksen can replace modric to an extent but we lack a destroyer. Can Stambouli do it? I say MF 3 of stambouli, Eriksen and Mason. Capoue sub stambouli, Dembele sub Eriksen and Bentalab sub Mason.

3. If Kane gets injured, we're screwed. We need a loan of an experienced striker till summer arrives.
If you said we have not replaced Bale or Modric, I could understand, Huddlestone, maybe, but Sandro?!!

To be fair I dont know what else he could have done?
  • He changed our formation to a 4-3-3
  • He took off the 3 players who were not performing in Mason, Lamela & Soldado
  • We looked better in the last 15 mins and eventually won the game?
Now dont get me wrong we didnt play well today but Poch gets zero credit, EVER. Personally I think he made the exact substitutions that I would have made, and a lot of people were calling for on here, and we eventually won the game.

I think the switch to 433 had a subtle but effective impact. kane was basically doing his and Soldados job anyway so taking him off and putting on Dembele meant that things were evened up a bit. Took us a while to get adjusted but I thought we looked better especially Chadli and Stambouli came on.

Hahaha your life must be so entertaining!! Anyway we can't always get it right can we. Your grasp of the game just seem especially poor. But that's none of my business

Your grasp seems poorer than most to be fair. There are plenty I disagree with strongly on here on certain issues and players but they still show a good understanding of football when arguing their point. You just have sensationalist opinion with the inability to back anything up in a balanced discussion. It's blinkered.

To climb higher up the table!
Cause burnley is a must win!
To please spurs fans!
What the heck you mean "Why."
Liverpool play against arsenal, which could be a draw or go either way. We need points.
What the heck? ;)

Eh?

There was a lot I liked about Harry and his time in charge, but there was a lot more that I didn't. He had an incredibly short-term vision of squad-building for a start, and really only had himself to blame for getting the sack.

I actually admired Levy's ambition when he appointed AVB. It was a risk, but one I felt (and still feel) was worth taking at the time. As for Pochettino, he wasn't my first, second, or even third choice as manager, but I could at least recognise the logic behind it.

I don't want Pochettino to fail (quite the opposite, for obvious reasons), but I can distinguish between points and performances. Today was another poor performance, and I see no reason to sugar-coat it. Not expecting overnight miracles, but surely we can all agree that the signs of his influence should be more evident by now?
I agree with you about AVB and clearly I was wrong to lump you in with the Redknapp bedwetters. MP wasn't my first choice either, but all that's important right now is points. I'll judge him on performances later. The fact is we've come away with three points after a Europa trip and done it against a good team on a rainy evening in Wales.

Walkers back
3pts away at a very tough place to go

That's all I got. Well happy. Wish we could play like Madrid every week but how many times have we slagged off other teams for winning when playing shit.

On to the next one, coys

I think we need to go for Konoplyanka in January. Offer him a big wage and get him in, as we need some alternatives in the attacking three to just Townsend and Lennon.

So we need to keep Soldado on so he can keep on banging them in?
Either that or play the way the youth team did when Obika was injured either false 9 or perhaps chadli upfront but that didn't work out great against besiktas

Burnley playing well at the moment. Like the look of Danny Ings. Apparently his contract runs out at the end of the season. Spurs could do a lot worse and make some enquiries about his signature. They just beat The Saints so should be an interesting game.

Individual skill. Are you honestly going to try and spin that performance into an affirmation of Pochettino's influence? We were shit for the vast majority of the match, and Pochettino did absolutely nothing to change it.

Was Dembele for Soldado 10 minutes into the second half not a tactical change?

A little bit like when I asked for mason and lamela to be replaced today shortly before they were. We then won the game. Yep no grasp. Thanks for coming . Na night

There's no denying it was a good result. Maybe it's just me but I'd actually be more encouraged by a point and a good performance, than another poor performance and all three points. It's the absence of signs of improvement that prevents me from being filled with optimism for the future. Keep performing like that and the results will soon reflect it.

Positives-I think we now have the back 5 sorted as the best we have got. Fazio and Verts far from convincing at times but best of what is currently avaialble. Dembele looks a bit more useful playing further up the pitch and I am glad to see Stambouli getting a look in. Thought Kyle Walker had a tremendous second half, especially given his lack of matches and up against a very tricky opponent - did well to avoid any rash challenges and a second yellow too.Kane absolutely tireless performance, Erikson that rare touch of class( why hasn't EL done something similar in any premier league game yet?)

Our back five were shocking today, (not for the first time), all over the place at times, if this is our best 5, God help us!
