I know this was meant as a joke, but Fukuoka (ふくおか) would be split up like Fu-Ku-O-Ka with each syllable pronounced clearly and as you would expect.

Fu is somehow pronounced like a mix between Fu & Hu. And O should be somehow pronounced as "all" in English.
Nevertheless, Fukuoka is one of my favorite city in the world

I know, I know. Just struggling to find the optimism at the moment.

I can see what's coming regarding Kane, Nuno's football sounds bloody awful. And I still have no faith in our recruitment in terms of getting our top targets.

Understandable.

But the fact that we already seem to be some way down the road to signing this guy suggests that our scouts / Paratici are at least somewhat alive to what we need and which players offer both good value and good potential. It's the kind of signing that we used to do well. It's the kind of signing that Leicester now do well.

Even if nothing else, it's a promising start.

...

As well as Sterling, City have alerted Spurs to the availability of Aymeric Laporte but Tottenham are instead working on a deal to sign Bologna defender Takehiro Tomiyasu.

It is understood Spurs have offered in the region of £12.9m for the Japan international and, although the Italian club want closer to £15m, a deal is expected to be agreed.

Just as he pushed through Tottenham’s move for Espirito Santo, a candidate the club had earlier passed on, Paratici is believed to be driving the interest in Tomiyasu, who has also been a target of Atalanta.

Tomiyasu can play in the centre defence or at right-back, which will push Serge Aurier further towards the Spurs exit door.

Still don't know who in the hell will buy Aurier. I'm guessing it will need to be someone in France (or maybe Italy?)

I once knew a young lady who came from Fukuoka. I hadn't thought about her in years, until I read this thread, and the memories I'm now having are awesome. Thanks SC!
I know nothing of the player beyond (checks thread title) his name and what I have read in here, but I think he's my new favourite player.

And they say Takehiro can save us,
I'm not gonna stand here and wait
I'll hold on to the wings of the eagles
Watch as we all fly away

Come on you know the words :cautious:

Fancy a bit of Enrique?

I can be your Takehiro baby
I can take the pain away
And I will stand by you forever
Levy's tightness can take my breath away

No?..ok goodbye

And when Takhiro comes along
With the strength to pass it on
And you cast your fears aside
Coz you know we will score 5

That headline. Lol. Nuno will give his blessing if Mendes can somehow figure out a way to make money in that deal.

Never knowingly seen the lad play, but with 60 Serie A starts and 20+ full international appearances at the age of 22 he has a fair bit of experience for a CB already.

Sounds like he would be a fantastic signing.

Haven’t seen him play but wish to further highlight that he is a first Xi defender honing his craft in the land of catenaccio, can only be a good thing!
