We could go three at the back with Davies at left centre back so we can get Dier back in midfield. Dembele looks shot and Winks is going through a poor spell. Alli or Eriksen might have to have a seat on the bench. It will be a scrap but losing Tarkowski is a big blow for them

I reckon the dip in form of dele is due to our slow and sloppy midfield. I will not drop him and he can still provide assist and goal which most we need.
In my opinion Dele contributes to the slow and sloppiness.

The squad feels thin, again. The tough choices are trying to find worthy and appropriate bodies for key positions, rather than choosing between players on competing form.

Hugo
Dier Sanchez Vertonghen
Aurier Dembele Eriksen Rose
Lamela Kane Son

I can never make up my mind about Eriksen playing deeper - he either looks really effective or totally lost, and rarely anything in between. Same goes for Alli, so either of them could be given a go there on the assumption they’d push forwards.

I prefer “flying” wing-backs. I think they’re vital to the collective press, which we basically don’t do anymore.

Bench? Not bothered mate.

We desperately miss Wanyama and Toby as we all know, but Kane needs help/competition and we are crying out for a dominating CM who can read the game, pass the ball and create from deep, an Alonso-type ideally, but even someone a bit like Fernandinho would help the whole shape of the team.

Lol@the amount of people dropping Trippier from their squads.
To be fair he was at fault for Burnley's equaliser at Wembley. Got caught high up the pitch.

I don't know if Poch is demanding him to press high in these instances but if he is then Trippier is not the man for the job. There's a lot to admire about Trippier but we need to realise his limitations. He hasn't got great recovery speeds and only benefits when the whole set up is more compact. At the moment, without our cbs and Vic, we can't trust him to fulfil this role. It needs to be someone more tenacious in my opinion.

I think Pochs tactics with the rotation of the wingbacks has failed this season. All of them have failed to really hit their top form and i think it’s time to pick two and give them an extended run as the first choice. I would go with Rose and Aurier, i think both offer much more than Davies and Trippier.

Sanchez should go back in and partner with Vertonghen. Dembele probably needs rest, so it’s between Dier and Winks. I would play a 3 man midfield with Dier, Eriksen and either Dele or Winks. Then we can play Lamela, Son and Kane in attack.

I think one of Dier, Winks or Dele should be dropped. So something like this if Winks gets benched(Winks instead of Dele if Dele gets benched). I would love for us to play 4-3-3 like City.

Hugo, Aurier, Sanchez, Vertonghen, Rose, Dier, Eriksen, Dele, Lamela, Son and Kane.
I've had a feeling for a while that come January Aurier and Rose would be first picks. Just depends if Rose is still around I guess but I think Aurier needs a run of games to get to his best. Other than keeping legs fresh this chopping and changing isn't really working to be honest. Time for Poch to stick to his preferred pair. Incidentally our defence was so difficult to breach last season because it was so settled. The only ever present has been Vertonghen.

Trippier was truly awful on Saturday but this is the kind of match he excels in. He won’t be forced to do much defending and we’ll need his offense in this one. Rose for his offense too.

Too long a game to wait to put things right.. Rose can slowly wait for his move to manure. His temper IMO is hurting the team at the moment so he can f off the first XI for me.

Foyth is a superior option in all regards imo.

What are you basing this on? Have you ever seen him play cm.
Foyth looked decent when he played the other week in a dead rubber in defence but is it fair to throw him in for his 1st premier League game out of position

We know Burnley are going to put everyone behind the ball along with the ghost of whatever spirit Dyche has conjured to force teams to miss easy chances while his side inexplicably score 80th minute bangers so I say we equal his tactic.

Lloris
Vertonghen
Winks
Edwards-Lamela-Eriksen-Dele-Son-N'koudou
Kane-Llorente
Full proof plan. Put defenders on the bench and sub 3 on after we score 20 in the first 10 mins. Guaranteed win. ;)(y)
