I don't want Sandro to start, I want him playing our league games now. He's fully fit and our best midfielder. I want to see him back bossing Prem teams.

Watched the goals from a recent game, the pitch is shite, much better than last season when Liverpool played them though, don't get any hopes up about a great game, smash and grab job this one.
Paulinho, Dembele and Vertonghen should all be rested before we play the Spammers, but i have a bad feeling AVB will play them.
Even if Lennon and Capoue are fit i wouldn't risk them.

I really hope AVB picks a side that won't impact on our chances on Sunday. West Ham are going to be fresh, they'll come and in typical big Sam fashion they will want to turn into a real scrap. Providing we have seven/eight players fresh for the fight this shouldn't be a problem - but I don't want Dembele or Paulinho risked out in Russia.

Its imperative that our engine room for Sunday is fresh for the fight - if it is we should be beating West Ham all day long.

I'm already worried that one of them will play on Thursday. This is a game that isn't essential to win for our chances of progression, it really isn't. We'll still top the group in all likelihood no matter the result in this one.

Hope he picks a side that won't compromise our chances on Sunday. We have a huge chance to win our next three league games, and I think we need three wins as well - November looks a tough month thereafter.

No injuries and plenty of rotation surely is the order of the day here.

Totally agree.

We can beat them so easily- they are bottom of the Russian League, drew against fucking fc sheriff and have not won all season (11 games I think) and they have only 1 good player left- Lacina Traore and he is injured

I agree, having seen the pitch as i posted above, its not terrible, but not great either, Walker needs to be kept clear of this one too, its fucking dull saying it but we should play to keep it solid and get a point, or nick a goal, we don't need to risk players in these dodgy away fixtures, keep energy use to more of a minimum.

They still have some decent players and it's still a Russian League side, not Tromsø. They may be at bottom, but it's not like they're losing all the games, they've drawn most of their games, at times with good opposition like CSKA. So our 2nd team ought to win there rather easily if they've right attitude, but it's not a game that you get 3 points by playing kids.

v FC Anzhi Mahkachkla Thursday October 3
UEFA Europa League Group Stage Game 2
Away at The Anzhi-Arena

4-2-3-1
Friedal
Naughton - Kaboul - Chirchiles - Rose
Sandro - Holtby
Lennon - Lamela - Chadli
Defoe

Subs: Gomes, Fryers, Steward, Fredericks, Dawkins, Kane, Obika

Anzhi won't be playing any of their matches at the Anzhi Arena in Europe due to trouble in the area. Instead it's been moved to near Moscow, in Saturn FC stadium.

Onto my starting line up, resting as many starters as possible while giving run outs for those who aren't starting. Paulinho could do with a break after playing so much recently. I'd expect Lamela and Defoe to get run outs too as I can't see either starting against West Ham. AVB played Lloris in the first match, so I can't see him not doing so again. I don't think Holtby will sit in with Sandro as AVB sees him as a number 10 and likes having two solid type of players in there(even against Tromso).

Lloris
Naughton Kaboul Chiriches Fryers
Sandro Dembele
Lamela Holtby Chadli
Defoe

West Ham would be a perfect game for Lamela to make his first PL start for us and for that reason alone I hope he doesn't start on Thursday night. Chadli would be a good bet for Thursday and maybe even Sig. I just really want to see Townsend, Eriksen and Lamela on Sunday. I wonder if Defoe performs again on Thursday and Soldado doesn't on Sunday if AVB will swap them round... give Defoe a chance to continue his good form in the PL and give Soldado some time to get going against weaker teams. I don't know if I would but I would be surprised if AVB wasn't starting to think about it.

Adebayor - Defoe
Chadli - Holtby - Sandro - Lamela
Fryers - Kaboul - Chiriches - Naughton
Friedel

Always one striker dropping back to help the midfield.

Wishful thinking I'm afraid if you think either of those two would do that mate.

I really hope Lamela will start against West Ham so am not sure if I want him to start against Anzhi

Me too. I hope Sandro and Holtby start or are at least heavily involved too. Lot's of people saying not bringing Sandro on in the second half of the Chelsea game was a tactical oversight, but lets get real her for a minute...any game where Sandro doesn't start is a tactical oversight.

Brad (Although AVB may start Hugo)
Naughton Dawson Vlad Fryers
Sandro Holtby
Chadli Lamela Kane
Defoe

(Ade may play as a sub)

Anyway, Anzhi has not yet got a win in this season.....
And I am surprised that not many SC members include Kane in their teams. I think Kane is a very good rotation option

Looking at West Ham match I don't see the need for 2 defensive minded midfielders & would go with 442 against spammers with a team of lloris, walker Dawson Kaboul Rose, Townsend Dembele Holtby Eriksen, Defoe Soldado... Dawson & Kaboul to deal with Ariel assault.
Against Anzhi I'd like to sea how Chadli would do as a striking option so would experiment a little in that department.
Lloris, Naughton Chicheres Verthongen Fryers,Paulinho Sandro, Townsend Lamela Siggurdson, Chadli
Subs: Friedel, Walker Dawson, Veljkovic
Holtby, Adebayor Kane

I think AVB will feel both matches are winnable, whatever combination of squad players we use out there. As do I.
