Let's look forward and focus on the Lazio game..

I would play:

-------------------Lloris-----------------------
Walker---Dawson(c)---Caulker---Naughton
------------Carroll-----Livermore------------
-Falque--------Sigurdsson------------Bale-
-----------------Adebayor--------------------

Subs: Cudicini, BAE?/Vertonghen, Parker?/Hudd, Dempsey, Townsend, Lennon, Defoe

Rest Verts, Lennon, Sandro, Dempsey, Walker, Gallas, Defoe for the weekend.

I was tempted to put Huddlestone in but he has had a good chance to show his quality and not performed. Therefore I'd go for Livermore even if Hudd suits Europe more with his passing style.

Whatever the team is, We need to keep the likes of Caulker, Carroll, Falque and the rest of the youngsters fresh for the important league game next weekend... ;)

Well today was humiliating, so I think we should go with our strongest line up, so I'd go for:

Mr Blobby
Basil Brush - Harold from Halifax - Donald Duck - Mickey Mouse
Shop Mannequin - A Concrete Slab - Humpty Dumptey - A Goat
Les Dennis - Russ Abbott

Yeah I'd probably try out Livermore instead of Huddlestone actually.

----------------------------- Friedel ---------------------------------
Walker --------- Gallas ------------- Dawson ----- Naughton
Sigurdsson ------- Livermore ------- Carroll -------- Townsend
---------------- Falque ------------------- Adebayor ---------------

It's young, probably going to get trampled, but we have to keep our eyes on West Ham. We've played our best in a 4-4-2, and I like Falque as a 2nd striker and I think he and Ade might be a cool pair to watch. I'm just curious as to how this would work out.

Verts, Caulker, Defoe, Sandro, Dembele, BAE, Bale, Lennon, Dempsey will all have an opportunity to be rested up and possibly all available for West Ham. West Ham has to be going against our best, most fresh side simply because we can't even afford a draw in that match.

I'm much more willing to sacrifice a result against Lazio as opposed to having tired legs for a pivotal match against West Ham. We've always got Panathanaidjfasdkos as well.

Looking ahead, we could set ourselves up with a potential squad for West Ham of:

---------------------------- Lloris ------------------------------
Walker ------- Caulker ------------ Verts ---------- BAE
Lennon ------ Dembele -------- Sandro ------------ Bale
------------ Dempsey --------------- Defoe -----------------

I don't see why we would change from a 2 striker front. Dempsey isn't a true striker, but he can drop back and pick up the ball. He's not as great as Ade, but in interest of using the formation that has worked, I'd keep it like that for West Ham.

Friedel
Walker Caulker Gallas Naughton
Huddlestone Carroll
Falque Sigurdson Townsend
Adebayor
Lloris, Dawson, Vertongen, Livermore, Dempsey, Bale, Defoe
Lloris for West Ham game.
Rest Vertonghen, Dawson, Huddlestone, Sandro, Lennon, Bale & Defoe.
Sigurdsson needs a game, he must start vs West Ham.
Gallas should be droped to the last CB in pecking order, not Dawson, that's why he can play this game.
Sandro to take a day off, as he is an international player outside eroupe.

Trouble is if we lose to Lazio we could easily be going out of the tournament. A win for Maribor V Pana and I'd fancy them to beat Lazio in the last game.

Still, there's a part of me that says take a gamble, leave quite a few of our players in England like JV, Lloris, Caulker, Defoe and Sandro, as I think Lazio will win anyway, whatever team we play. If Maribor then beat Pana, fair enough, our squad can't really cope with the EL and the lge ATM.

I was all for us going all out to win the competition, and if we get lucky on Thursday, (I don't think Maribor will win in Greece) than yep go for it again all out.

But we really need not to lose against West Ham on Sunday.

Friedel
Walker Dawson Gallas Naughton
Huddlestone Carroll
Falque Sigurdson Townsend
Adebayor

Cudicini, U21 defender, Livermore, Dempsey, Mason, Pritchard, Obika

No Way Defoe should play as we have to rest home for Sunday otherwise we will have Dempsey upfront
