The toffees will be our main challengers for fourth as the scum are not gud enough.

You could be right. But Arsenal are good enough for fourth - in spite of themselves. We will have wasted the first half of the season bedding our new setup in and getting over some big injuries.

Everton will be there - WBA are a strong outfit and with Long (would go for him at Spurs liked him for a while now) upfront will cause havoc for many teams. Newcastle and West ham are not shabby. Swansea and Wigan will take points - Liverpool are improving also. If we can get a Europe spot I will be not totally displeased (well a little ;)).

I wish we hadn't loaned Adam Smith out.
Spot on!

I was just thinking this. If AVB had been here longer I doubt we would have these problems. Naughton is just so poor.

There must be some good young left backs out there?

I don't think Naughton is poor. He's a right back being played at left back. Benny is a great left back but the few times he has played RB he's looked very out of place.

He is just so indecisive - looks out of his depth and sorry in our team he plain poor. He probably a lovely lad mind.

He may be slightly better on the right I grant you. He would be even better up at Sunderland and we can have Rose back ;)

Bring in the young guns and try Siggy behind Ade

-------------------friedel---------------- (lloris now league goal keeper)
naughton-daws-----caulks---Townsend-
-------------Carroll---Livermore---------
-Falque--------Sigurdsson------Pritchard-
----------------Adebayor-----------------

Subs: Cudicini - Walker, Vertonghen, Luongo, Mason, Dempsey, Lennon (Parrett)

Friedel
Naughton
Dawson

Bale
Lennon
Livermore
Carroll
Parrett
Adebayor
Defoe

Subs: Cudicini, Walker, Vertonghen, Townsend, Sandro, Mason, Obika

It's essentially a 4-4-1-1 but with no real left midfielder. Parrett is ostensibly on the left but playing a Tainio/Davids role, tucking in to make a central three and covering Bale when he bombs forward. Bale is allowed to come from deep so that he's running at defenders at speed. Having him as left back also ensures that he both stays left and means that we've got two players covering the left side defensively.

I wouldn't be suggesting this for a league game just yet but think it's worth a shot in Europe.

With our injury list I cannot see us winning at Lazio whatever team we put out,

With that in mind, I think we need to rest as many key players as possible - Sandro, Vertonghen, Bale, Lennon, Defoe (especially with Adebayor being out for 3 games following his red card) etc, as too many have been playing in too many games and we risk burn out later in the season if we do not rest players.

Demspsey and Sigurdsson have not done played to the standards they reached at Fulham and SWansea respectively, and although there is a possibilitry they may play better behind Adebayor, I would like to try out the best nio 10 the Academy has possibily ever produced, Ryan Mason (who is only 2 years younger than Sigurdsson).

Carroll for Huddlestone is to give Carroll more experience, and to see if he can becomne a first team regulkar. Townsend and Falque are known quantities now. Have also included Parrett on the bench

The omitted players, Hiuddlestone, Sigurdsson and Dempsey make the bench to allow the other players rest.

I've assumed Lloris in goal - but if he is going to become Premiership goalkeeper, arguably it should be Freidel's turn.

Lloris
Walker Dawson Caulker Naughton
Livermore Carroll
Falque Mason Townsend
Adebayor

Subs : Cudicini, Gallas, Huddlestone, Parrett, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Defoe

Its a young side, but no reason why they cannot pick up a draw, and don't think a more experienced side will do much better.

I agree we should rest lots of players for this one, don't even put Sandro, Vertonghen, Bale, Lennon, Defoe Lloris Caulker on the plane

I would play siggy and dempsey though

If AVB goes for it though, fine. I don't blame him, just think we're gonna get turned over in Italy whatever team we play, and I can't bear the thought of losing to West Ham.

Fack resting players. We need to remember how to win again. It's a habit!
This is what I think our team should be until we get players back from injury so i'd like to see how it does.

Normally i'd go 4-4-2 but seeing as Ade is out at the weekend, we need some practice with 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1.

For god's sake, don't just dislike a post without saying why. It's just lazy rubbish forum posting.

Recall Archer from loan:

Archer; Walker, Gallas, Caulker, Naughton; Lennon, Livermore, Huddlestone, Townsend; Adebayor, Defoe

And let their racist asshole fans watch as Tottenham tears them a new one. Boom-diggity.

EDIT: This was a joke (in a way). It was my attempt to put together an all-black Spurs side that could rub their racist pig-noses in a potential loss.
