Correct me if I'm wrong, but I have the impression that Poch has tended to not go back three against teams that play 4-3-3 this season, because he doesn't want to isolate the back three one on one. I'm sure he's at least spoken about it.

But given the injuries in CM, he might not have much choice.

Whereas Salah had permission to sit out Egypt’s games to get fresh for Liverpool’s run-in, and several Man Utd players including Lingard pulled out despite being fit, Son has an 11,000-mile round trip and Dele & Aurier are injured on duty while playing entirely unnecessary cake walks only just back from injury. We’re mugs

we don't decide, even if the players have niggles the FA have to check the players are not fit to play.

Egypt we're not playing a competitive match during the break, so friendlies are not important to field your strongest XI.

Man U never pulled the players out. Lingard was injured near enough straight after coming on as sub. Lidelof partner gave birth, and Rashford was sent home.

The players when they 1st start playing football DREAM of playing for their country, and when they pick that cap up it's 1 of the proudest moments of their lives. a lot of transfer are down to players not getting playing time, because it effects them playing for their country. ask any player if they won't to play for their country in a major competition or even a friendly and the answer you will get is yes.

myself I'm proud we have so many internationals

We really need Wanyama now more than ever. He looked rusty against Arsenal which is no suprise but if he can just turn back the clock for these final months it could be crucial. I'm not a fan of him alongside Sissoko though so would go something like this.

Lloris
Trippier----Alderweireld----Vertonghen----Rose
Wanyama
Eriksen-------------Alli
Sissoko---------Kane---------Son
With Eriksen and Alli a little deeper to pull the strings in midfield and using the pace of Sissoko and Son on the break. We need to play on the counter like we did at home against them last season.

Lingard was pulled out of the squad before the games and than played against Wolves in the cup.

I think he might just play Skipp in midfield. Wanyama looks shot. By all accounts his knee is similar to Ledley’s.

Sorry, that's balls.

Lingard was not made available for England selection due to a groin strain when the squad was announced on 13th March, then played 86 minutes of their FA Cup game against Wolves three days later on the 16th, when the England games were on the 22nd/25th.

Rashford pulled out the day before the first England game, on the 21st, with an ankle injury but is amazingly expected to be fit to play this weekend. You've got blinkers on, mate, everyone else is playing the game except for us.

Good to know that friendlies mean players don't need to be called up, though – I don't expect Kane to ever play in one again :sneaky:

if Lingard wasn't announced due to injury, he never pulled out

Man U never pulled Rashford out, England sent him home

Kane is proud to play for his country, Salah knows he will never win anything with Eygpt

Salah dropping out was announced ages ago

Yet TAA trained for Liverpool yesterday, miraculously. Mugged ourselves off again with the international break.

I really like Southgate and I hope all the players that pulled out of the recent internationals that start this weekend ie rashford, lingard, shaw, TTA are benched for the foreseeable future.
You either want to play for your country or you don’t, you can’t pick and choose the matches to play in

He was not available for selection due to injury, which was a lie, as he played 3 days later, a week before the England games. Phrase it how you want mate, you’re still wrong

Rashford would have been involved in that decision, as would Man Utd, don’t be silly.

You’re now adding on caveats about Salah I never made and don’t change the point at all.

If everyone was available I think we may have seen 433 with a midfield of winks Dier sissoko. But that would have meant one of Son/dele likely missed out.

As said I can’t see anything else now but 343 with eriksen/dele in CM. We lose a bit of aggression probably but add more creativity so it might not be the worse thing.

Think we've got to go with a 3 man midfield due to lack of quality in there. I'd go similar to how england lined up with Dele in a deeper role.

And could well have fucked his immediate chances under Southgate in the process! I hope he doesn’t get picked in the summer. Teach him a lesson. Same with Stones

when United played Wolves in the Cup, they had just played Liverpool and had 3 injuries in the 1st half, 1 being Lingard. perhaps he played v Wolves not fully fit due to the squad being bare. it might back fire on him when Southgate picks his next squad.

so because your angry your looking at every angle, so if Rashford felt he wasn't fit as he missed the Wolves game, why commit and possibly aggravate an injury. if any player showed signs of injury when in the England camp, then they could of come back. ours wanted to play for their country.

I'm not doing anything about Salah, they had a friendly a not important game, he asked them if he could give it a miss they said yes. Kane as England captain, wants to play for his country

One thing massively in our favour is they have to win. They are already essentially a point behind with worse goal diff. They have 3 tough fixtures while city next 3 should be easy. The gap could easily be 5/6 pts and it all be over. If we are still in it with 30 minutes left they will have to throw the kitchen sink. We could easily nicknit on the counter.

Next 3:

Liverpool:

Spurs h
Southampton a
Chelsea h

City:
Fulham a
Cardiff h
Palace a

Not expecting anything from this. We've been awful on the road against the other top sides (Mourinho's United was not a top side).
