Risking Bale for this game would be insane.

Would rather see Modric on the left and Lennon right. With 2 of Sandro, Jenas or Huddlestone in the centre.

I still want to see Van Der Vaart and Kranjcar up front together, but it's not going to happen so it will fall to Crouch.

I have a sneaking feeling that if Gallas can't make it, we'll see an injected Ledley King leading the team out.

Bale will be wasted at left back for this game, he'll just get pushed back by Ramos and di Maria. Playing him in his normal position will have the opposite effect, Ramos won't want to push up so much in the fear of Bale killing him.

i think this is a fair and interesting point to be made. i would rather he was not risked unless 100 per cent fit.

after saturday modric has to play CM as it upsets the balance too much. if bale is out then Nico has to play if not then why is he in the squad

Pienaar is out. If Bale's not back then it will likely be Modric left, Hudd and Sandro centre.

did not realise pienaar was out.

with injuries and if bale is not risked midfiled should be

lennon modric sandro nico

If Bale is out, it is not sufficient to remedy it by putting our best central midfielder on the left. By doing that you end up with two positions weakened instead of just one. To beat Real Madrid we'll need as many of our best players in their best positions as out injury list will allow. If our best left winger is out, and we put our best central midfielder in his place, we end up with a non first choice left winger on the left wing and a not first choice central midfielder in central midfield. Ludicrous when you have a player as talented and able as Kranjcar chomping at the bit to get some minutes.

love the look at that team and feel harry has wanted to play that alot this season but not really had the chance. we tried it at newcastle i think without thudd and bale got injured after 10 minutes.. u cud be onto something there. people who say bale wasted at left back looking at the negative i think. he would dominate that left hand side agaianst anyone. modric and sandro to help him out too. i for one wud be delieghted with that team

So after both press conferences its 99.9% certain that this is how both sides and benches will look like;

Casillas(c)
Ramos Pepe Carvalho Marcelo
Khedira Alonso
Di Maria Ozil Ronaldo
Adebayor

SUBS: Dudek(GK), Arbeloa, Garay, Diarra, Granero, Kaka, Higuin,

INJURED: Raul Albiol, Benzema

Crouch
Bale Van Der Vaart Lennon
Modric Sandro
Assou-Ekotto Dawson(c) Gallas Corluka
Gomes

Subs: Cudicini(GK) Bassong Huddlestone Jenas Kranjcar Defoe Pavlyuchenko

INJURED: Hutton King Woodgate Kaboul Palacios Pienaar

Modric needs to do his share of the defensive work to help out Sandro

Who would you pick? For me, assuming the players are fit of course, I'd go back to basics and use what has by and large been successful this season.
Gomes
Corluka Dawson Bassong Ekotto
Lennon Sandro Modric Bale
VDV
Crouch

Cudicini Huddlestone Jenas Pienaar Kranjcar Defoe Pavlyuchenko

Of course, if Gallas is fit I'd have him in ahead of Bassong and sacrifice one of the subs for Bassong to be on the bench.

I'm not so sure, Personally I'd rather have the experience of Corluka alongside Dawson with Jenas at right back I'd then drop Bale back to left back with Kranjcar in front of him this way we've got two full backs capable of playing like wingbacks a la Barca who beat them 5-0.

Barca play with Alves and Abidal as fullbacks, the latter basically being a left sided Corluka ..

Huddlestone should start, no one in that starting 11 has the brain to play bale and lennon good balls consistently and with modric in the middle were going to have to rely on Sandro a lot to break up there attacks.

I feel the game is going to be end to end or just us defending all match with that possible starting 11

ah well, we shall see what happens

jenas is lucky boy we have so many injuries otheerwsie he wud not even make sub bench. thudd pienaar and krnajcar are ahead of him when players all fit.
