Its not underrating Villa but if these players want to be considered credible contenders to be in the 1st 11 then they should deliver

Vorm

Trippier CCV Wimmer Davies

Winks Onomah

Sissoko Son Nkoudou

Janssen

Vorm/Pau
Trippier - Carter-Vickers - Wimmer - Davies
Winks - Sissoko/Onomah
Son - Sissoko/Onomah - Nkoudou
Janssen

Subs: Vorm/Pau, Vertonghen, Carroll, Dembele, Eriksen, Edwards, Kane

With two keepers and twelve outfield players, i'd be most fucking disappointed with anything but a win.

I agree with most of these and think we should rotate but with 6 days after villa until wba poch might want to keep the players active. If they don't play v villa then it's 10 days between Chelsea and villa

Carter-Vickers Dier Wimmer

Janssen Son
Subs: Lopez, N'Koudou, Wanyama, Walker-Peters, Edwards, Amos, Harrison

Plenty of flexibility in the line-up itself plus options from the bench.

Maybe it would be best to play a 3 at the back, just to give the players who have never played the system in a competitive game some experience of it.

People who think he's going to play no senior players in there are loopy, and obviously don't know our manager.

The game's live on terrestrial TV too, so he won't want any chance of an embarrassment, and we've got a week til the next game.

He'll play at least one first teamer in each position down the spine of the side to give the younger ones the confidence to express themselves.

The two concerns here are the flakiness of the midfield, and the lack of composure in the front four, but if Sissoko drops a bit deeper when needed to give them a bit of extra grunt, I think Winks and Onomah have enough in them to give that front 4 something to play with.

You may be right about Poch's selection but as I and others have said a zillion times, the thread is about who would YOU pick irrespective of it being impractical, a fantasy or just plain nonsense, as oppose to second guessing Poch. Get with the program

OK, let me put it this. Poch is right, playing a team full of kids without an experienced spine is folly, and those advocating it are very silly indeed.

If Edwards is fit enough to play 90mins then I'd start with him

Why the hell wouldn't you? I'm sure Villa will be playing a weakened team. I think it's a great chance to give him a full game and see what he can do

Looked so comfortable and on the same wavelength as some of our top players when he came on v Gillingham

The boys ready, get him on/in

Edit: If Villa are at full strength stick him on the bench!!

Surely Erik will be able to play some part next week as well

I'm going to be ruthless here. And normally I love the FA Cup for it's historic prominence if nothing else. But as an exception, like a one time only, I'd start nobody from the starting 11.

Lopez

Trippier
Carter-Vickers
Wimmer
Davies

Carroll
Winks
Sissoko

Son
Janssen
N'Koudou

PL/EL are far too important to even dream about risking anything in what could be a meaningless match. vs a has-been team.

It's hardly a team full of kids that most people are suggesting.

Almost all of them have had top level game time already this season, and giving them 90 minutes to prove themselves following a period in which the others have played three games in a week doesn't sound that silly to me.

I think you're right and Poch will pick a few of the 'first XI' but I really don't think he should, particularly as for me the FA Cup is the least of our priorities this season (albeit it would be nice to win).
