Damn and blast. Really thought the Aussies would mount the comeback of the century.

England routinely beating the Aussies

Spurs the form team in the Prem and in the CL knockouts...

Where's the catch? There must be a catch...?

who would have thought it would be this easy? In all seriousness though, let's win at Sydney to hammer it home...we want to win the ashes, not just retain them

Fair play to England and congrats on holding onto the Ashes. Much the better cricket team overall in this series. Runs and wickets when needed.

Australian cricket needs a good long hard look at itself, and the public will be demanding nothing less. Just hope that some smart decisions are made...

There's a world of difference between between being optimistic and not knowing the difference between the words likely and possible.

This is has nothing to do with semantics. You thought, even yesterday, the Aussies would come back. Anyone who knows anything about Test Match cricket knows that was never going to happen pretty much after the second day, if not the first.

You probably don't even give a shit or clearly know anything about cricket, you just come on here to flaunt your anti-English stance and pathetically seek attention.

You're right but you took it there so I thought I'd follow you and see where you were going with it. Turns out it was a short trip.
You thought, even yesterday, the Aussies would come back.
I did indeed. I'm an optimistic kinda chap.
Anyone who knows anything about Test Match cricket knows that was never going to happen pretty much after the second day, if not the first.
It was still possible though.
You probably don't even give a shit...
Correct, I was having fun.
or clearly know anything about cricket
Never quantified my cricket knowledge
...you just come on here to flaunt your anti-English stance and pathetically seek attention.
See it these kind of idiotic comments that really don't reflect well on the people making them.

I've stated numerous times that it's fuck all to do with anything "anti", something which my actions, if you actually bothered to check before liberally spouting bile, would give evidence of.

If you care to look in one of the threads regarding the previous test, (it may have been the one before, I haven't been counting), when the situation looked extremely unlikely that England would be able to recover, I backed England.

You see my friend, I like to have a little fun, I like to take an optimistic approach and back the underdog. Time and time again, when I have no particular vested interest in something, I back the underdog, regardless of who it is, and cheer them on.

If people like your good self actually took the time to check just one of the times that I have said this in the face of similar pathetic accusations, then perhaps it would ultimately save those who choose to do so looking foolish.

Yeah, I was the one looking foolish backing Australia when they were 400+ behind and requiring England to bat again, and take 10 wickets.

And it was possible to the extent that it's possible United will lose the next five games five nil. In fact, probably far less possible as there wasn't enough time anyway. So as pointless things to say go, that's right up there.

Have your fun, but you are living in la la land.

Here ya go coyboy, save you the trouble of looking it up. See how I "flaunted my anti-English stance" by backing England.

Going to accuse me of having an anti-Australian stance now too?

Or, miracle of miracles, will the penny finally drop?

Just seems you are picking it like you pick lottery numbers. Again, pointless. Why waste your time coming on here if you know and care nothing of cricket.

I don't see why Lanh is getting so much shit - he's as entitled to his opinion here as the next person. Needless aggression ruining a perfectly enjoyable cricketing thread. Come on, England just retained the ashes, in australia - we should be celebrating :)

England? Then why should you be celebrating? South Africans have better cause to celebrate our victory.
