Or take me back to 1991 when that phrase was last used. Totally chilled. I always wonder how people can infer anything different from typed words.

England? Then why should you be celebrating? South Africans have better cause to celebrate our victory.

Because I support, and follow the England cricket team. You do know the ECB is the England & Wales cricket board, right?

Or perhaps your knowledge of cricket isn't as strong as you thought?!

Either way, your comment, which I have quoted, is not only crassly thought out, but is also idiotic and simple minded

I don't see why Lanh is getting so much shit - he's as entitled to his opinion here as the next person.
Cheers Welshie, appreciate it mate.

Back on topic-ish...

Has anybody noticed how good the commentary is? I was really impressed that they, (Sky), have basically just handed the reigns of the coverage over to people that have actually played the game and are knowledgeable about it. It made it much more enjoyable to watch.

I know that Channel 5 attempted to do that with John Barnes, but I do wish football coverage was handled in the same way. There's gotta be some knowledgeable ex-footballers who can commentate/introduce with the same skill and wit, no?

I really enjoy Sky's coverage to be fair. It's good that they utilise a lot of former international players - makes it very interesting as you know they know what they're talking about! And Botham makes me giggle!

 I thought he was going to punch someone when they were taking the piss out of him for going on about a third slip.

I've a lot of time for David Gower and Mike Atherton in particular, people like that, who are really passionate and knowledgeable about their sport, can bridge the gap between the obsessed and the clueless, and the gentle banter that goes on between them, just makes it a joy to watch, because if nothing is happening at the crease, they'll keep you entertained. Makes the time go a lot quicker.

I can't help thinking that football would be made more accessible to the clueless, if you get former players in there and maybe even rotate the commentary during the match as they do on 5Live. I know Waddle does 5Live sometimes, (and is brilliant at it), surely there are some others out there, maybe Seaman, Ian Rush, that kinda guy.

Fair play to England and congrats on holding onto the Ashes. Much the better cricket team overall in this series. Runs and wickets when needed.

Australian cricket needs a good long hard look at itself, and the public will be demanding nothing less. Just hope that some smart decisions are made...

You need a rehaul. Bring in the new fresh players that will make you great again, but only in a few years. Take the hit just now to bring them through.

Just depends if you do it now, or after the World Cup

I got all i wanted for Christmas this year, Spurs win both games over over the festive period and England win the ashes.....there really is a Santa!!

Not won them yet, only retained.
Need to win the last one to win them outright.

Yeah I do. It was a joke. You had cause to celebrate in 2005 to be fair.

Regarding the commentary, Sky is pretty good. Warne is good but he is a wind up merchant. Atherton is awesome and i really like Hussain. David Lloyd is ok but can be a bit annoying. I think Botham is a complete ***** though.

I enjoy listening to all of them TBH but I reckon getting Boycott back would top it off nicely.

I think Coyboy needs an intervention. I've never seen him so angry and vicious.

I think my leaving the country has affected him deeply.

We're under way in the 5th and final test!

England have named an unchanged 11, with Australia replacing Ponting with Khawaja, and bringing Beer in for the injured Harris

Aus have won the toss and chosen to bat....currently 17-0.

You get the feeling that 134-4 could turn into 230 all out, as long as Hussey doesn't get going.
