RIP Patrick. Good actor.

He turned down the role of James Bond (in which he would have excelled) because he wouldn't take any part that included a love or sex scene of any kind.

His tombstone should read "He was not a number, he was a man."

Me... being a Bond fan I also believe he turned down the role because he wouldn't carry a gun.

Actor Ricardo Montalban died today too - Fantasy Island, The Wrath of Khan, etc. and many other films and TV series.

Don't think anyone had him on their list.

A shock for all you wrestling fans (below is copied from an article). Died yesterday. Steroid-related perhaps?

Northeast independent wrestler Paul E. Normous, who had a cameo and was mentioned by name in the first locker room scene in "The Wrestler" passed away today. We don't have any additional details regarding his passing at this time. He was only 33 years old.

A New York native, E. Normous trained out of a number of different schools including Gino Caruso and Jason Knight's after growing up a fan of the business. He often noted in interviews that growing up, his grandmother was a huge Ric Flair fan He had worked some of the early Ring of Honor shows, plus numerous indy promotions like WXW, 3PW. He had also worked an invitational training camp for Ohio Valley Wrestling when it was an official WWE developmental.

A tall, extremely muscled worker, E. Normous was billed at 6'6 so he fit the role of a huge monster worker on independent shows during an era where most wrestlers on that level are far smaller. Beyond that, he had also worked as a celebrity bodyguard, personal fitness and nutrition and had done some acting work.

Also actress Kathleen Byron, well into her 80s.

She was the nun who went crazy in the film Black Narcissus and had other film and TV roles. Good actress.

Knew? In the biblical sense was that?

On a sad note, one of my favourite authors of all time has just died of lung cancer, aged 76- John Updike.

He wrote the brilliant "Rabbit" series and "The Witches of Eastwick" among other titles and I've read every book he ever wrote.

If you guys don't know his work, I urge to read his books and give yourselves a treat as a tribute to a wonderful writer.

This is a great idea for a competition, I would join but it will be just stealing a few people from everyones team (not very good with famous people espacially older ones)

Ex-heavyweight champ Ingemar Johansson died on 30th January, aged 76. Don't know if anyone had him on their list.

I have Aston Villa midfielder Paul Birch on my list. I knew that he'd been fighting a very virulent form of cancer for some time and that this was really on the cards.

Sadly, he died today. Only 46 - RIP and condolences to family and friends.

Will send a replacement for my list in due course...
