I took Patrick Swayze off my 2009 list and am glad I did.

Did anyone else see his interview? I have massive respect for this lovely man and how he's dealing with the worst kind of cancer, pancreatic which averages around six month's life expectancy once diagnosed which he has already passed. He knows he may have no more than two years left to live at the most now and he's facing up to it incredibly courageously and honestly, admitting that he's afraid but determined to make the most of the time he has left. Superb attitude under the circumstances.

Some of you may gains some V-points on this one but I really hope he makes it through this year. He's too young to die.

I see that David Vine died yesterday, aged 73.

I remember him well commentating on Grandstand and Match of the Day and on many other TV programmes. Very good he was too. RIP DV.

Can I replace him with Harry Morgan?

RIP Patrick. Good actor.

He turned down the role of James Bond (in which he would have excelled) because he wouldn't take any part that included a love or sex scene of any kind.

His tombstone should read "He was not a number, he was a man."
