so you think that say O'shea, Nani, and the Raefael (sp) brothers are on te same money as Rooney, Vidic and Ferdinand?.....at every club as in daily life at companies you will have those on higher salaries than others.
Besides if we do sign better players then we should in theory be more competitive/successful and have an increase in revenue and afford to pay relatively higher wages to the 'lesser' squad members
Well considering I said quite clearly that's not the case, I can't understand why you are arguing such a stupid point with me. Kind of a straw man argument. I said they wouldn't expect to be paid like Modric and these two mythical superstars.
But if they see the ceiling has been increased, they are going to want a raise. If I'm Dawson and I'm making 30k and Modric is making 70k....okay. If Modric is suddenly on 120 and two new guys are on that as well, I might think I deserve 50k.
That's the domino effect.
And consistent Champions League appearance would allow for all salaries to be raised. But banking on that is stupid business and almost crushed a bigger team than us called Dortmund. 10 years later they have finally gotten back to where they belong and even so, they can't afford to buy players.
