Last season Suarez had 47 shots, 23 on target, and scored 4 goals (one of which really should have gone down as an OG).

Defoe had 42, 23 on target, and also scored 4.

Isn't that interesting?

We didn't sign the nasty, cheating, diving little shit. Let's get over it.
agree! he is a liverpool player. But dont forget suarez wasnt a red until jan.

No not really, particularly when you consider that Suarez joined at the end of January, was adpating to a new Country and league and produced some very eye catching performances - he was pretty central to Liverpool's improvement in the latter half of the season.

Doesn't Levy do the buying? Do you ever think before you type?

That's a bit strong/rude isn't it mate?

Yes I do think before I post, check my rep!

Levy does the buying, agreed, but what do you think a DoF does? He identifies and talks to players, he uses his contacts to help us identify and secure the targets. How hard is Harry finding being so removed from the process after being directly involved for his entire career? How closely is he working with Levy to identify players? Our 2 best signings last year didn't come from Harry, what does that tell you?

I'm not saying I'm right, its just my opinion, but question whether I think before I post demonstrates that you clearly don't do much thinking at all chum!

Suarez also excels in every other area that a striker should.

Movement, intelligence etc.

Defoe, when he isn't scoring, offers nothing to the side.

I heard that Tasci has been a flop this season?

Do you mean last season?

If you actually meant this season, I would hardly call being the best player in their only game floppish

If you meant last season, then you are talking about a team that suffered from too many trainers and too many loses in personnel (how would it affect any CB to lose their keeper and a great holder in the same season). Overall Stuttgart suffered from poor front-office management. The transfer policy was all over the map in the years proceeding last year and it left them with a very patchwork squad, which was talented but lacked critical pieces. Add to that the fact that Tasci played with a thigh injury for most of it, and he didn't have the greatest season. But circumstances rather than ability dictated that.

Oh, quite. (Let's leave aside the fact that at Ajax his diving, cheating and general nastiness made Craig Bellamy look like Mr. Squeaky Clean.) However, the complaint last season was that our strikers weren't scoring, at least where it counted, and in that wise there was fuck all to choose between Defoe and Suarez.

We didn't sign him. Liverpool did. It's history.

There was more to it than that, the movement was poor and it stifled our approach play and contributed to a lack of invention many a time.

Suarez is nothing like Defoe, its a ridiculous comparison.

Agreed! I don't think Suarez is world-class but he is so much better than Defoe it is untrue!

Defoe is a one-trick pony who has lost his trick.....

I really hope defoe stays and comes back sharp hungry and banging in goals. The sheer lack of support for the guy on the back of an injury ravaged (poor by his standards) season is simply embarassing

Yea come on Defoe only cheats off the pitch. As long as they have appeared on some shit TV show anyway he has some standards.

Not to mention the trauma his family faced off the pitch. Hope he makes everyone on here eat their words.

spot on, fans are far to quick to write players off when they hit a bad run of form, I remember a few seasons ago people deciding that lennon needs to be fucked off and hes shit and then harry gets him playing again and hes awesome and then to the back end of last season suddenly hes shit again.

As soon as these guys are back on form everyone loves them..

Fickle.

We must not get rid of defoe, we will regret it.

Main difference is that Suarez can eat an apple through a tennis racket. JD can't.
