On the last day of the transfer window, as a publicity stunt....you don`t honestly believe we were serious about trying to buy those players? Aside from the fact neither had any intention of coming to Spurs.

I agree that it was a publicity stunt, well the Aguero bid for sure. But I am certain that if Levy thinks a player is worth spending £40m for he will do it. we are a rich club. We can afford a £40m fee no problem. Wages are the big issue because if one player is on big wages, other players will want to be paid the same amount too. But a one off fee, no problems.

There isnt any ITK on Hazard so dont want to talk to much in the ITK section but to answer above question he is on the left side of a 433, not technically as brilliant as Luka but a better eye for goal an amazingly skillfull dribbler, and fast.

Ah cool, thanks for that.

People bringing up the idea of swap deals, young Josh McEchran looked like he could play a fair bit last season. Seeing as Chelsea have basically a complete contempt for their own young players, maybe a decent option in terms of a player plus cash deal?

I feel let down modric, levy lies lies and more lies, I like many struggled to pay for my season ticket for what it's all about money for chairman, players and agents

The problem with that is how many players out there are worth 40 million and are on 50-60k a week...not many.

We will have to agree to disagree on that point...

I really don't buy this publicity stunt business for a second.

Why make it known that we have masses of money to spend? Why make it look like we rushed out at the last fucking minute to sign a player?

What's the point of a publicity stunt that makes us look rich, stupid, and unprofessional?

Find a way to get a larger stadium, its absolutely crucial to our development or things like this will continue to happen...Levy knows it.

You would have to ask Levy that I`m afraid, I agree with you, it made us look like dicks....

I believe that we did make those bids more than it being a publicity stunt to be honest.

Levy's hands are tied. What can he do with a player who wants to leave, other than milker the prospective buyer dry? If anyone says stick him in the reserves...

It's ridiculous, I'm trawling Twitter in the desperate hope of an update - ideally one saying the story is wrong.

Hope what rebrab and Peanut said is right. Stick to your guns Daniel, don't allow it to happen!

I honestly think the sale of modric will signal a distinct decline in my love of football. I will still watch every spurs game and still want us to win but my heart will not be in the sport as much as it has been in recent times.

It will just make the whole sport seem souless and futile to me, the club will seem incapable of progressing further than it has and we will basically be stuck in limbo possibly even slipping back to the dark ages of midtable nothing.

It will be similar to the England National team, you watch the matches still and hope they win but your soul and belief has gone so in between matches that passion and obsession is lost.

Anyone else think it's disrespectful to the fans and club to go blurting to the media like that? (assuming it's true). Luka Modric is the best player I have ever seen in a Spurs shirt but really not happy with the way this has happened. Could be me being bitter though.
