I seen an interview somewhere where the corinthians president said something along the lines of 'brazilian football will be the richest football in the world withing 3 or 4 years. do the accounts and you'll see'.
Struck me a bit as a rather bizarre statement as he didnt say anymore than that??

some ITK [not that interesting but thought id share] - Ex Spur Simon Davies' bar bill at his recent wedding came to £48k. bit of a useless piece of info for you all!
Brazil will host WC, Copa and Confederation...
Good way to make money too

I'm amazed by how many people think we've a chance at getting Adebayor. Not my first choice but having watched the game Saturday it reminded me just how poor our strikers movement and link play was so I'd jump at the chance of having Adebayor now.

But I don't see city doing business with us, certainly can't see us coming to a wage compromise especially if we struggle with Rossi and this is if he don't get his Madrid move

Parts of the BRICS - booming economy, steady growth, hugev work force, rising wages, greater internal spend... not really suprising that Brazilian football is getting more wealthy

SSN were reporting that they had a new sponsor ship deal worth more than Man UTD and also the money from their new TV deal...

Joorabchian isn't supposed to be involved anymore they fell out and he was investigated for money laundering and a load of other stuff...

That guy is a joke, how he is allowed any where near a football club is beyond me... he's not a licensed Agent yet he is heavilly involved in transfers?

City left him at home when they went on their tour ... he is desperate to leave and at the moment is on the "reported 160k per week". If they loan or sell to us and pay 80k of that they are saving themselves 80k a week straight away...

We did the same with Robbie Keane when he left leeds and I think leeds also did the same deal with Robbie Fowler to Man City... wouldn't rule it out...

Exactly, which has all led to a very strong currency, making UK or European players look much better value than they would have historically.

Shouldn' that be another avenue for Levy's enquiries over the recent unpleasantness involving <NAMELESS> players being tapped-up:shrug:

Aguero agent says future will be sorted this week.

Who would have him?

I really think he needs a partner as he is not the lone striker we are looking for. Or do I not watch enough Spanish football?

Look at the population of Brazil and then do the maths if they are all starting to pay similar subscription fees as we have to pay for Sky over here... Their league will be a powerhouse soon if they can sort out its bloody structure a bit better.

He's going to Citeh as Tevez's replacement, this is known.

Going to City to replace Tevez. I don't think they care how he fits in, they'll just buy him.

amazed by Brazil.
In the last world cup every Brazilian player was from a european club.
While the Brazilian Economy is booming there still remain huge levels of absolute poverty.
I've travelled in Brazil and although football is a passion, many of the stadiums in their premier league are half full, due to people not being able to afford the prices.
So there is a long way to go..

If the brazilian League becomes a power house, I think it's likely to weaken La Liga, and give the Premier League a stronger foot hold in Europe.

Brazil have some fantastic young players in their league currently

So we didn't do anything yesterday? (I was at the Open)

Hopefully we can get some players in/out this week. I have a feeling it's going to be a BIG week

Slightly off topic, but someone has been reading the game of thrones books....

Back to ITK, I am really undecided about Pav extending. Someone on here, I think maybe Ryantegan summed it up beautifully when they said he is a scorer of great goals, not a great goalscorer.

As long as we sign the latter I'm not upset about Pav extending.

Rossi can still be our's if we want him enough. Get the feeling Juve are not as close to signing him, as goal.com are making out.

I am just not convinced they'd do business with us. Plus for the FFP surely they would want all of the £8m wages off their bill seeing it would make space after Tevez replacement and additional signings they will inevitably make for their champions league campaign. If we do anything it is going be a 31/8 job and it's imperative we have strikers tied up earlier IMO

anyone who thinks aguero is coming to spurs needs to get real seriously. He is rumoured to be taking pay cut to join city and if thats true then even that blows us out of water before we offer him what 90k a wekk haha. We have absolute no chance of gettting player like that. our striking options now are very limited - adebayor, vucinic and at a push and depending on what real amadrid do maybe a benzema or hugain. ill be shocked if our main striker is not one of those.

again i dont expect any major striker coming in anytime soon. i said before i wud love to see other areas of pitch strengthened first cos no top striker will join till they have exhausted all options with reagrds top wages from top clubs
